    The Duck Lake Trail is a short and sweet hike in Yellowstone. This trail brings you to a gorgeous lake that has a huge sandy beach with lots of spots to play and picnic. This route is family-friendly and good for kids of all ages.

    Route Description for Duck Lake Trail

    The Duck Lake Trail is an easy, family-friendly hike near Yellowstone Lake. This route does not have the jaw-dropping grandeur or otherworldly geothermal features of other trails in the Park, but it is a lovely spot to escape the crowds and enjoy some quality time with loved ones. Duck Lake is a secluded little lake with a lovely, sandy beach. This lake is the perfect destination for a family picnic or a relaxing afternoon in Yellowstone National Park.

    Beginning at the Duck Lake Trailhead, follow the path north to the shores of Duck Lake. Enjoy your time exploring Duck Lake. When you are ready to head home, simply retrace your steps back to the trailhead where you began.
