Route Description for Fairy Falls Lollipop Trail

The Fairy Falls Lollipop Trail is a beautiful route in the Wyoming wilderness. This trail is one of many in the area leading to Fairy Falls, a popular tourist attraction. Be prepared for crowds of people snapping photos and enjoying the views at the falls. Fairy Falls is popular for a reason; this 61 m tall waterfall is truly a magical sight. With lovely views, wildlife, and of course, the waterfall, this trail is a great way to spend an afternoon exploring Yellowstone National Park with loved ones.

Beginning at the Fountain Flats Drive Trailhead, follow the path south and cross over the Firehole River to a divide. At the divide, take the path on your left to continue south to a second divide. This second divide marks the beginning of the circuit down to Fairy Falls and back. Take the path on your right to hike the circuit counterclockwise and stay left at the subsequent divides to make your way to Fairy Falls.

Enjoy a rest at Fairy Falls and soak in the incredible beauty of this tumbling cascade. When you are ready to keep going, follow Fairy Creek eastward to a divide. Although it is not part of this circuit, we recommend hiking a quick out-and-back on the trail to your right to check out the Grand Prismatic Spring Overlook before following the route back north to the Fountain Flats Trailhead where you began.
