Nevada is not commonly known as a hiking destination, however it should be. While it’s too hot to hike in summer, from late-autumn to early-spring, Nevada is full of great trails. A trip to Las Vegas can be combined with hiking in nearby Red Rock Canyon or Mount Charleston as the perfect way to get away from Sin City.
You may not know much about hiking in Nevada, but that just might change. While most people on earth have heard of Las Vegas, very few know about all the natural beauty the state has to offer. You can hike in Great Basin National Park, around Lake Tahoe, down in Mt. Charleston Wilderness, La Madre Mountain Wilderness or Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. There are more great hikes in Nevada bordering on Lake Mead as well.
