Scrambles in Whistler

Region in British Columbia, Canada

A trip to Whistler, in beautiful British Columbia, is a real treat in any season! Located on the Sea to Sky highway in BC’s Coast Mountains, the drive from Vancouver to Whistler is beautiful. Once in Whistler the combination of a great mountain town and exceptional outdoor fun is sure to create an unforgettable holiday experience.

Whistler has two peak seasons, however it is truly a year-round destination for adventure enthusiasts. The biggest attraction in winter are the two ski hills (Whistler and Blackcomb), which are connected by the Peak to Peak Gondola ride. Downhill activities here last until the end of April, which by this time some of the hiking trails are already opening so you can flow seamlessly from cold weather to warm weather adventures. Plus, the Gondola stays open year-round, which is a real treat for skipping the elevation gain when hiking or biking!

Whistler is a tourist town, seeing an influx of 2+ million visitors every year, which is quite significant relative to its year-round population of 10,000. This means that the town has lots of wonderful accommodations, restaurants, and shops. Even better, summer is low season, and great deals abound!

A trip to Whistler allows you to enjoy great food, accommodations, spas, coffees and outdoor adventures! We love it here.

The Brandywine Mountain Trail is a stunningly scenic route near Whistler that takes hikers along a woodland path to the picturesque Brandywine Meadows before summiting Brandywine Mountain itself. The last portion of the hike is fairly technical, with steep slopes and some scrambling required, meaning that this is not a hike that should be undertaken by amateur hikers. Those that do trudge their way up the peak will be rewarded with spectacular views of Garibaldi Provincial Park and the Whistler area.
