Bike Across Italy on the Venice to Florence Cycling Tour
The 8-Day Venice to Florence Cycling Tour will take you from the romantic lagoon city of Venice to the historic Tuscan capital of Florence in just eight days – doesn’t that sound incredible! In addition to these two major travel highlights, you will discover delightful small towns and villages along the route and marvel at the breathtaking nature in the ‘Delta del Po’ National Park. There is hardly a country in the world that can rival Italy’s culinary delights, such as cappuccino, cornetto, fresh fish and cool gelato – all of which you will encounter on this incredible trip! If you are looking to experience the very best scenery, culture, foods, and hospitality that Italy has to offer, be sure to book the 8-Day Venice to Florence Cycling Tour – you won’t regret it!
After arriving in Venice, you will make your way to your hotel, which is located on the mainland and has excellent bus links to the lagoon city. Not far from Marcus square, you can look forward to a little Grappa tasting session before settling in for the evening.
In the morning, you will meet for a tour briefing and bike fitting, before cycling on the bike path over the Liberty Bridge to Venice. Afterwards, you will take the ferry to Lido and cycle to Chioggia with stunning views of the sea. This quiet little town is reminiscent of the historic Venetian maritime supremacy, inviting you to stay and enjoy yourself in one of its typical fish restaurants. Tonight, you will stay in Chioggia/Sottomarina, where there is a wide sandy beach.
On quiet roads you will cycle back to the River Adige, which will lead you through fertile fields, melon plantations, and tranquil villages to Adria - a small, friendly city with lots of charm. Founded by the Etruscans because of its proximity to the rivers Adige and Po, the city now features charming narrow streets, cosy cafes, and friendly people.
Today you will cycle for a short distance along the longest river in Italy, the river Po. One of its branches, called Po di Goro, will lead you right through the river delta towards the sea. Perhaps you want to cool off in the Adriatic Sea before you arrive in the charming town of Comacchio? Magnificent palazzi, ornate churches, and numerous bridges still bear witness of the prosperity once gained by salt production in the region. Overnight in Comacchio.
The first half of the day’s ride will take you through the natural park “Delta del Po” with its unique flora and fauna. Riding your bike on a dam, you will feel as though you are cycling across the water while flamingos are nesting only a few metres away from you! After one short ferry ride (tickets not included in the tour price, about € 2) you will reach the Adriatic Sea. Continuing on to Ravenna, you will cycle past wide beaches before reaching the enchanting port city filled with art and culture.
The foothills of the Apennines form gently rolling hills, providing a different landscape from previous stages of the tour. On the edge of the vast plains you will arrive in Faenza – an enchanting little city where world-famous ceramics are produced. The artists will be happy to let you watch while they are painting the artifacts. Now it is not far to Brisighella, an idyllic medieval village where tranquility and pure relaxation await you.
The final day of cycling on your tour will begin with a wonderful train journey through the wild mountain world of the Apennines to Borgo San Lorenzo. After, you will climb uphill on your bike to be rewarded with a fantastic descent through Fiesole to Florence, the history-charged capital of Tuscany.
After breakfast, you will pack your things and bid farewell to the historic city of Florence for an individual departure from Tuscany.

I’ve been using 10Adventures route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10Adventures made that happen.

I was going through a tough time and really needed a getaway so I decided to book a tour through 10Adventures. My trip to Peru changed my life in so many positive and eye-opening ways. I am so thankful for the kind, empathetic team at 10Adventures.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

My wife Sarah and I had a great experience booking our 7-day cycling trip through Portugal via 10Adventures. The communication between us and Nadine leading up the trip was top-notch!

Communicating with 10Adventures feels like talking with a family-run business. I love to explore and travel, and exploring with the comfort of knowing I can talk to the team at 10Adventures with almost immediate feedback helps to ease any stress that comes with adventuring!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
