Walk the Amalfi Coast from Sorrento to Amalfi with a detour to Capri
The Amalfi Coast and Capri Walking tour is a magical chance to tour one of Italy’s most picture-perfect regions on foot, from the shimmering sea to imposing volcanoes and everything in between.
Savour walking along the sea in the stunning Amalfi Coast on this walking tour, which begins with the fresh ocean air of Sorrento and the lovely Capri Island. Trek to Emperor Tiber’s villa or journey down the west coast to the Blue Grotto. Dip into the cool sea and gaze up to the impressive Monte Solaro and Punta Carena, a spellbinding view.
The Amalfi Coast and Capri Walking tour will lead you from quaint marinas to hidden coves, and then high up into the terraced fields and lemon groves of Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi. Sip lemon liquor while the scent of wildflowers fills your nose before hiking down to Positano, where colourful homes are etched right into the cliffside.
Loop through Amalfi with the Italian sun on your face and stop to sample local gelato, olive oil, or coffee. The Amalfi Coast and Capri Walking tour is the perfect way to immerse yourself in this special region of Italy.
You’ll arrive in Sorrento to the fresh ocean air, which will be most welcome after your travels. Pop into the historic town centre to window shop, find a restaurant to enjoy dinner at, and get excited for the days ahead.
The first adventure in your walking tour of the Amalfi Coast takes you by ferry to Capri Island, the “pearl of the Bay of Naples.” You can choose between two walks around the island. The first walk on Capri is an easy trip to Emperor Tiber’s villa, where the ruler was said to have thrown his rivals off the cliff (lovely!). The gardens are luxurious and the views over the Gulf of Naples are fantastic. The second option for a walk today is perfect for those wanting to admire views of Monte Solaro and Punta Carena, as you’ll walk from Anacapri up Monte Solaro, where you can enjoy a cable car ride past picture-worthy views. Then, you can descend down to Punta Carena, where you can optionally continue to the Blue Grotto on one of the most beautiful trails on the island. Tough choices today!
Today, start with a private transfer to Sant’Agata, where you’ll walk to the stunning beach of Marina del Cantone. A little break for a swim and some sun is only natural here, but once you’re done enjoying the bay it’s off to enjoy a walk with views of Capri, the Amalfi Coast, the Gulf of Naples, and Mount Vesuvius.
To complete today’s walk, you can either walk from Termini to Marina del Cantone, walk from Sant'Agata to Marina del Cantone, or forgo the transfers altogether to walk from Sorrento to Marina del Cantone depending on how far you wish to go on foot.
Begin the next leg of your walking adventure on the Amalfi Coast with a trip to the Bay of Ieranto, which has excellent views. Give the legs a break with a float in the Mediterranean or take a nap on the beach- today is a shorter journey to give you more time to relax.
Today begins with a private transfer to Sant’Agata dui Due Golfi, where you’ll start your walk to Colli San Pietro, perched high above the coastline. The walk is sublime, and you’ll traverse through terraced fields, lemon groves, and olive trees. The air is scented with wildflowers, and you probably won’t want the day to end! A private transfer in the evening takes you to Amalfi for the next few days. Perhaps some local Limoncello before bed?
Today you’ll take on one of the most famous trails along the Amalfi Coast, the Sentiero degli Dei trail, better known as “Path of the Gods”. Expansive ocean views and jagged coastline make this walk unforgettable! Spot the colourful buildings of Positano as you approach and take some time to enjoy this pastel city before the bus back to Amalfi comes.
The last adventure of your Amalfi Coast walking tour takes place in the Valle delle Ferriere. Here, you can choose between two walks. The first walk is a short loop from Amalfi to Pontone via the Grevone Valley. You’ll hike up through the gorge past old iron quarries and water mills, which once were used to produce paper. The second option for your walk is longer, beginning with a ride to Pontone. You’ll hike through the gorge and back to Amalfi with spectacular views the whole way.
Enjoy your last breakfast in Amalfi before it’s time to leave this incredible place. Safe travels!

I’ve been using 10Adventures route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10Adventures made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

My wife Sarah and I had a great experience booking our 7-day cycling trip through Portugal via 10Adventures. The communication between us and Nadine leading up the trip was top-notch!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
