Mountain bike through Catalonia from Vic to Barcelona
Oh, Barcelona! This legendary city is the destination on the Vic to Barcelona Mountain Biking tour, but there’s no shortage of highlights along the way! Combine mountain biking- big climbs, offroad trails, and speedy descents- with the culture and atmosphere of Spain on this divine biking tour.
From the medieval city of Vic, you’ll ride through gorgeous rural Catalonia, mixing heart-pumping sections of trail with slow-going cruises through pretty towns and historic areas. Sip local wine, try regional foods, and marvel at monuments each day. Ride for a while on the legendary Way of Saint James, where pilgrims have trekked for many years. Stay the night right under the Monastery of Montserrat, ride through Collerola Park, and stroll the modernist buildings of Terrassa. The Vic to Barcelona Mountain Biking tour packs in rural charm and ends off with two nights in renowned Barcelona, creating an unbeatable Spanish mountain biking adventure!
Get your wits about you with an information session held by your guides (if taking a guided tour) or tour representatives (if taking a self-guided tour) to begin your mountain biking adventure. You’ll get your bike fitted and review all that’s needed to begin biking tomorrow.
Once you’re all set, enjoy a walk around the medieval city of Vic, perhaps seeking out a local dessert or glass of wine.
Good morning! Seize your first day in Spain with a ride along peaceful country trails through the rural parts of Catalonia. Break for lunch in Collsuspina, perhaps treating yourself to a beer before hitting the road again.
Ride along more rural trails to your accommodation in Moia.
You’ll pedal along a little slice of history today, riding the Way of Saint James, an ancient pilgrimage route. Following the footsteps of many before you, arrive at the Monestir de Santa Maria de l’Estany, where gorgeous views of the Pyrenees and the meadows of Catalonia unfold behind a historic monastery.
After breakfast, continue on along the Way of Saint James towards the gorgeous mountain of Montserrat. You’ll trace the Llobregat River, where you’ll be able to see the “tinas” or traditional rural winemaking buildings. From here, prepare for a climb through the forest up to the Montserrat Monastery. You’ll be staying right nearby tonight, so you’ll have lots of time to admire this historical spot.
Wake up in Montserrat and enjoy your morning coffee before hopping on your bike and following the Llobregat once again. You’ll be riding through the industrial region near Barcelona today, taking side roads to Terrassa.
Terrassa has a rich modernist influence, so take a walk through the area to admire the buildings after dinner.
On your last day of biking, you’ll make your dramatic entrance into Barcelona via Collserola Park. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to stop at la Seu d’Egara and the Monastery of San Sugat, two beautiful local landmarks.
Barcelona will unfold below you and the sea will be on the horizon as you pedal your final few kilometres. You made it!
Good morning, Barcelona! This is one of the most-visited destinations in Europe, and there’s something for everyone here. From an abundance of entertainment and culture to galleries, clubs, and beaches, you’ve got plenty to keep you busy!

I’ve been using 10Adventures route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10Adventures made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
