Meet your guide and fellow travellers this morning in Calgary. Enjoy the scenic drive into the foothills, and then through the spectacular Rocky Mountains.
Arrive in Invermere with enough time for a pleasant walk through the Wilmere Wetlands to discover the incredible birdlife. Then you’ll head to your rustic barn accommodations, where you’ll make dinner with the group and enjoy a relaxing evening.
It will be a bumpy drive through the forest to reach the Lake of Hanging Glacier trailhead, but this amazing hike will be worth it. Cross Hell Roaring Creek to get to the amazing alpine lake surrounded by majestic rocky peaks and glaciers. This hike has it all! Waterfalls, impressive glaciers, a beautiful lake, and magnificent views are waiting to be discovered.
You’ll be back at the barn in time to catch a beautiful mountain sunset.
Your hike today is the Jumbo Pass Trail, and the views will definitely live up to the name. As you climb above the treeline, you’ll be treated to views from 2300 meters. Take in the amazing view of Bastille Mountain before you continue to Jumbo Pass. From the pass, you’ll have breathtaking views of Jumbo and Karnak peaks and the beautiful Horseshoe Glacier.
Today you’ll leave Invermere and journey to the Purcells. Here, you’ll find a teahouse in the wilderness which will be your base for the next two nights. You’ll have to hike with your sleeping bag and gear from the teahouse to the campsite under the gaze of The Judge mountain.
The Judge will be the focus of today’s hike. From camp, you’ll walk to the ridgeline and follow it up to the final scramble up to the summit at 2752 meters. Take in the breathtaking views of Mount Assiniboine and the Kootenay River Valley before you hike back down to camp.
After breakfast, it will be time to pack up camp and hike down from the teahouse. The van will drop you off at the Columbia River, where you’ll spend a tranquil afternoon paddling the beautiful wetlands.
Tonight, you’ll find your mountain lodge accommodations in the Kootenays. Enjoy the spectacular views and excellent cuisine before you turn in for the night.
The hikes you took over the past few days will have been the perfect warm-up for today’s challenging trail. The slope begins moderately until you cross Vaux Creek, where the trail steepens as it works its way up the mountain. The views along the way of Donald and Perley Rock will inspire your climb to the final viewpoint. Enjoy the spectacular vista of the Illecillewaet Icefield at the end of the trail.
Tonight you’ll celebrate another successful hike with a barbecue dinner at the lodge.
Your final hike of the tour will be on the Asulkan Valley Trail. This trek will feature everything you could possibly want from a mountain hike! The trail is steep, but you’ll see beautiful forests, waterfalls, glaciers, and spectacular mountain views. You’ll have lunch at the teahouse at the end of the trail before starting your hike back to the lodge.

I’ve been using 10Adventures route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10Adventures made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

My wife Sarah and I had a great experience booking our 7-day cycling trip through Portugal via 10Adventures. The communication between us and Nadine leading up the trip was top-notch!

Communicating with 10Adventures feels like talking with a family-run business. I love to explore and travel, and exploring with the comfort of knowing I can talk to the team at 10Adventures with almost immediate feedback helps to ease any stress that comes with adventuring!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
