Hit the highlights of Croatia on this 8-day guided adventure tour
Croatia has something for every type of adventurer, and this guided multisport adventure tour gives a sample of the highlights of Croatia. If you’re a traveler who likes variety, this tour will appease your sensibilities—you’ll walk, hike, e-bike, kayak, and sail your way around Croatia. Oh, and eat!
The tour begins in Split, a city that blends its centuries-old history with chic modernity. Get your first sight of epic ocean views from the top of Marjan Hill next to the Old Town. Jump right into Croatian cuisine on a culinary tour of Solta Island on an e-bike, tasting local products like honey, olives, and octopus, paired with local wine and liqueur. You’ll then head out to explore the Dalmatian archipelago and spend a few nights on the island of Hvar. From there, get your sea legs on a private yacht charter one day, and spend another paddling your way through the heavenly Pakleni archipelago. Near the end of the week, the remarkable Plitvice National Park beckons you in for a hike through its enchanting scenery. Finish the week with a walking tour of Zagreb, Croatia’s political centre and modern metropolis.
If you want to experience the highlights of Croatia and combine with some great adventures, then this multisport tour fits the bill!
Welcome to Split! From the airport, you'll head into the heart of Old Town Split, where you can spend the afternoon exploring this fascinating city. You’ll walk through narrow alleys, finding UNESCO World Heritage Sites like St. Domnius’s Cathedral and the Piazza, then turn the corner, and you’re in front of a European designer boutique. Find this same blend of old and new in Split’s galleries, restaurants, and bars. Spend the night in your hotel in the historical centre.
Get to know the rich flavours of local dishes on today’s e-bike adventure. The group will depart for Solta Island for a culinary tour. Your transportation by e-bike is ideal for less-experienced riders as it’s easy to operate, even on the terrain you’ll find today. You’ll get your fill of traditional tastes with some olive paté, anchovies, fresh extra virgin olive oil, and octopus’ pasta. Wash it down with some homemade liquor and local wine. You’ll also stop during the tour to get educated about bees around the area and try some of their products as well.
You’ll embark for Hvar from Split on a 1-hour passenger ferry. After settling into your hotel in Hvar, get out on the calm, clear waters surrounding the Pakleni Islands, a string of beautifully lush islands with paradise beaches. Your guides will brief you on kayak safety and provide you with all the necessary equipment for a safe and enjoyable journey. Then hop in and follow your guide across the channel and split the day up between paddling, swimming, snorkelling, and enjoying a drink at a beach bar. Return leisurely to Hvar for free time in the afternoon and evening. Hvar town connects narrow alleys with plenty of boutiques, restaurants, and attractions to keep you busy.
Your hike today guides you through some of the most fragrant fields of the Dalmatian Islands. From Hvar town, you’ll be transferred to the small village of Velo Grablje to start the journey. Winding through medieval trails, passing by fields of lavender, your senses of sight and smell will be delighted. Then to please your taste buds, have lunch in a local tavern in Malo Grablje. Depending on your group’s preferences, there’s an optional 2-hour extension from the village of Milna to return to Hvar.
Let the wind be your guide on today’s sailing excursion! Embark on a private yacht from Hvar to sail across the Adriatic Sea’s crystal clear waters. The final destination is the paradise island of Vis, but the route there is never the same, thanks to nature and the art of sailing. The full-day excursion brings you to idyllic bays where your captain can anchor, and you can jump in for a refreshing dip. Once you reach land, take some time to learn about Vis town and its history. Soak up a fantastic day at sea and return to Hvar in the late afternoon.
Step into a magical storybook today when you explore Plitvice National Park. Leaving Hvar behind the morning, take the ferry to Split and meet your driver for the journey to the park entrance—one of the most enchanting places on earth awaits. Cascading lakes and waterfalls among a majestic forest surround you as you walk along carefully placed wooden paths and bridges. Keep your camera out; this UNESCO World Heritage Site is super photogenic! Once your tour of the park ends, meet your driver for a transfer to Croatia’s capital, Zagreb.
Wake up and have breakfast in the historic capital of Croatia, then meet your guide for a walking tour to learn more. Zagreb encompasses both Eastern and Western European elements because of its geographical location. The city’s elevation fluctuates a bit, so be prepared to walk up some hills. Spend your last afternoon and evening of the tour at your leisure.
It’s time to pack up and say goodbye to your group as you head off to the airport with your memories, photos, and any souvenirs you picked up along the way.

I’ve been using 10Adventures route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10Adventures made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

My wife Sarah and I had a great experience booking our 7-day cycling trip through Portugal via 10Adventures. The communication between us and Nadine leading up the trip was top-notch!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
