Cross Country Ski the Dolomites Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Alta Pusteria

Today you’ll travel to Dobbiaco and check into your hotel in Alta Pusteria. It’s the perfect time to make sure your skis are waxed and get prepared for the trails!

Day 2 Ski from Cortina d’Ampezzo

A shuttle will collect you in the morning and bring you to the beautiful city of Cortina d’Ampezzo. From here you’ll begin skiing along an old railroad line through tunnels and over bridges to the viewpoint where you’ll see the magnificent three peaks of Drei Zinnen, possible the most iconic sight in the Dolomites.

Continue along the route until you’ve reached the Nordic Arena in Dobbiaco. Perhaps an apres?

Day 3 Explore Alta Pusteria

Today you’ll be skiing the beautiful trails that surround Alta Pusteria. You’ll enjoy the mountain views as you ski across the Braies Valley to Lake Braies. If you’re feeling energetic you can extend the route and ski to the Val Casies.

The day ends in Alta Pusteria, where you can tuck into a warm dinner and a hot drink.

Day 4 Discover the Trails in Austria

Ski the track to San Candido to begin your day, then you can choose to continue to the borderland trail to Austrian East Tyrol.

Alternatively, you can take the gorgeous detour that follows the Sesto River through the forests to Sesto. Once you’ve crossed into Austria you’ll ski the hillier terrain to Sillian.

Day 5 Explore Obertilliach or Villgraten Valley

This morning you can choose between two ski adventures. First off, you can take the ski bus to Obertilliach and ski the extensive network of trails that surround the cross-country and biathlon center. This option can cover approximately 60 kilometers depending on the route you choose.

If you’re looking for a shorter day you can explore the quiet trails in Villgratental, which is about a 15-kilometer route.

Day 6 Ski to Lienz

Your final ski day will be a gentle downhill trail from Sillian to Lienz. In Lienz, they will often have additional trails groomed through the villages in the valley if the snow conditions are good.

Enjoy your final night with a celebratory dinner of traditional East Tyrolean cuisine.
