Day 2 Beautiful Coastline En Route to Furadouro

Cycle out of the city towards the gorgeous Atlantic coast. Enjoy the stunning golden beaches between the occasional wooded area and coastal village.

Day 3 Ride the Natural Reserve and Explore Aveiro

Today your bike ride will be through the wild dunes of the Protected Natural Reserve of São Jacinto. The contrast of the bright white sand and the blue ocean is definitely worth a photo stop!

A side trip to Moliceiro to see the colourful, hand-painted boats is highly recommended. Finally, there will be a lot to explore when you arrive in Aveiro, known as the Venice of Portugal. Walk along the canals, sample delicious Aveiro pastry, and visit the salt pans for a relaxing foot soak!

Day 4 Cycle along Canals and Fields to the Coast

Day 5 Bike the Woods to São Pedro de Moel

Your trail today leads you through the pine forest of Pinhal de Leiria. This ancient forest was planted to supply the wood to build ships for the great Portuguese discoverers in the 15th century.

Follow the Atlantic Road to São Pedro de Moel, a lovely beach area popular with surfers and fishermen.

Day 6 Visit Nazaré and Óbidos

Today you’ll be cycling between two very different towns. Begin your day in Nazaré, a famous fishing village that celebrates its commitment to tradition. Enjoy watching the colourful fishing boats from the gorgeous beach and see if you can spot the fisherwoman in their traditional 7-layered skirts and wooden clogs.

Cycle onwards to Óbidos, a fortified town that looks as if it was transported straight from medieval times. Explore the beautifully preserved architecture and charming homes that line the narrow streets.

Cycling Tour from Porto to Lisbon Price and Dates

This self-guided cycling tour of coastal Portugal is always run as a private tour for your group only and the price depends on the size of your group and your travelling dates. Please note that the prices might increase during public holidays.

Important! Due to high demand of bookings this tour is not available for the July and September departures anymore.

The standard departure day is Sunday, but you can pay a supplement of $225USD per person to depart a different day of the week. This surcharge only applies to groups of 2-3 people. Larger groups can depart any day of the without any additional costs. Prices below are per person:

Low Season (March 1st – April 30th and October 1st – November 30th):

  • Self-guided groups of 2-5: $1,325USD per person
  • Self-guided groups of 6-10: $1,195USD per person

High Season (May 1st – September 30th):

  • Self-guided groups of 2-5: $1,375USD per person
  • Self-guided groups of 6-10: $1,250USD per person
