Spend 8 days exploring Rhodes’ magnificent coastline by bike
This 8-day self-guided tour explores the beautiful Rhodes, part of Greece’s Dodecanese Islands. Take your time exploring and cycling at your own pace on this pre-planned route so that you don’t miss any of the unique historical sites or charming villages.
This trip has you cycling the entire northern part of the island. This includes focused rides that visit areas in-depth, like medieval ruins and local tavernas, so you can absorb the local culture. You’ll also take longer rides where you can simply enjoy the stellar coastline as you journey between towns. Your luggage will be transferred for you between hotels, so all you need to worry about is packing your picnic lunch and seeing where the roads take you. The Explore Rhodes by Bike Tour promises to be an unforgettable journey!
When you arrive at the Rhodes airport, you’ll meet the shuttle that will transfer you to your hotel in Kalavarda. Take some time to make sure your bicycle is set up and ready to go, and then feel free to explore the area by bike or on foot. Make sure you leave some time for a visit to the beach.
Start your bike ride on the remote northwest coastline and enjoy warming up your legs on the pleasant seaside roads. You’ll ride through the remains of Kamiros, which you can explore on your return trip. Take a quick break in Mandriko for a coffee at an authentic kafenion.
Continue cycling to Skala Kamiros, a charming fishing port, and then the medieval fortress of Kritinia. Spend some time exploring and taking in the views from its stone walls. From here, you’ll turn around for the return trip to Kalavarda. On your way back, take your pick out of four beachside taverns, which are great places to stop for a meal or a drink to end your day.
Today, you’ll ride through the valley of Petaloudes to Rhodes town. This lush valley is filled with thousands of butterflies during the summer months!
As your ride out of the valley, you’ll cycle through Maritsa and Pastida, which both offer great taverns to stop and eat at. The gate at the old center of Rhodes will welcome you to the medieval city, where you’ll find your hotel for the next two nights.
Today offers two choices on how to spend your day. You can take a lovely 6-kilometre self-guided walking tour that explores all the sites and secrets of Rhodes town. Alternatively, you can take the ferry to the island of Symi and take a 23-kilometre bike ride to explore the coastline, capital, and monastery of this beautiful island.
Your trip today has you cycling along the tranquil beaches of the stunning east coast. You’ll ride to Kalithea, the home of ancient Turkish baths that have been restored for modern use. Next, you’ll visit Afandou and the Monastery of Tsambika—an impressive sight perched on the edge of the cliffs. Finally, you’ll ride into the village of Archangellos, which will be your new home base.
If you are in the mood for a relaxing day, hop on your bike for the 3-kilometre trip to Stegna Beach.
If you feel like exploring more, you can ride to Lindos. This village is known for its white square houses and the Acropolis that overlooks them. Appreciate this enchanting village and the remains of the temples and fortress before riding back to Archangellos.
The first stop on your bike ride today is Epta Piges, a unique oasis in the forest that features seven springs, a tavern, and peacocks. You’ll cycle from here up a green valley to the Monastery of Agios Nektariosm and Eleousa.
Next, you’ll take a road up the mountainside to the Byzantine Chapel Fountoukli. The rest of your route is downhill as you descend through Dimilia and then follow the coastline back to Kalavarda.
Today, you’ll check out and take your included transfer to the airport. If you have a later departure, you are welcome to continue using your rental bike in the area until you have to depart.

I’ve been using 10Adventures route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10Adventures made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

My wife Sarah and I had a great experience booking our 7-day cycling trip through Portugal via 10Adventures. The communication between us and Nadine leading up the trip was top-notch!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.

Wow! I am so happy with the experience I had with booking through 10Adventures for my tour in Italy! I worked with Nadine and she was super easy-going and helpful when it came to tweaking the itinerary provided on the website. 10/10 would book through 10Adventures again.
