Hike your way through the beautiful Pyrenees of Catalonia
Coming to Spain to hike? Book yourself a spot on the Hiking the Catalan Pyrenees tour! This deep-dive into Catalonia’s mountains, villages, and valleys is a perfect introduction to the Catalan Pyrenees for any eager hiker.
Climb to 2000-metre mountain passes, watching vultures soar overhead as you take in the sight of the peaks surrounding you. Climb down through verdant valleys, where animals roam and flowers dot the ground. From villages perched precariously on mountainsides to monasteries hidden among the hills, Catalonia’s history and culture are on full display. With each kilometre trekked on the Hiking the Catalan Pyrenees tour, you’ll fall more and more in love with wonderful Catalonia.
Arrive in Ripoli, where you’ll be picked up and taken to the picturesque mountain town of Camprodon. Spend the afternoon enjoying the town, which sits at the confluence of the Ter and Ritort rivers. The town centre is full of historic buildings and cute cafes, so you’ve got plenty to enjoy today.
You’ll have a welcome meeting today to collect information about the route ahead and ask any questions you may have. You can also have this meeting on the morning of Day 2.
Get a warm-up in this morning with an easy hike through the Alt Garrotxa. You’ll hike through unbelievably lush meadows punctuated by wildflowers and streams.
Descend through valleys and forests to Molló, where a pretty Romanesque church from the 12th century awaits. After acquainting yourself with the town, settle in for the night.
After enjoying breakfast, start hiking towards the two mountain passes you’ll cross today. The summits of the Pyrenees loom in the distance as you climb to Col de Fembra Morte, crossing over Col de Liens. Enjoy a picnic lunch here before following the northern ridge of Puig de les Agudes to descend.
End your hike in Setcases, where a traditional Spanish dinner and a cozy bed await.
After breakfast and coffee, begin a loop hike through the mountain valleys near Setcases. This area is full of native plants and animals, so keep your eyes peeled.
Return to Setcases for another night.
The Ter Valley offers panoramic mountain views, scenic forests, and red-roofed mountain villages. Explore it today, pausing in the village of La Roca, seemingly built to hang off the rock (roca) it’s built on.
Follow the river to Camprodón, where you can spend the evening at your leisure.
Start the morning with a quick transfer to L’Abella, where you’ll set out on today’s route. Climb gradually through a valley up to the Collada Verda Pass, where you won’t be able to do anything but gawk at the high mountain views. Your trail winds through even more wonderful scenery, with golden eagles and vultures cruising through the air above the rolling mountains.
End the day in Ribes De Fraser, where you’ll enjoy dinner and flip through all the new photos you’ve taken.
Rise in the morning and enjoy a railway ride to the Núria train station, where an ancient monastery presides over the nearby valley. You’ll hike from the monastery down to Queralbs, enjoying a bit of light downhill hiking.
Once in Queralbs, take the train to Ribes de Fraser. Enjoy your last night, chowing down on tapas, dancing with the locals, and sipping Spanish wine.
Your hiking tour in the Catalan Pyrenees is all done! Either pre-book some extra days or head to the airport to depart.

I’ve been using 10A route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10A made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
