Hotel in Islamabad (Tourist Class)
Spend three nights in Islamabad at an excellent standard hotel.
Explore one of Pakistan’s prettiest valleys on the Nangma Valley Trek
Pakistan’s Nangma Valley is one of the most beautiful valleys in Pakistan, thanks to the massive rock walls that tower over you. This trek takes place in a less-visited part of the Karakoram, but one that will delight you.
This is an exceptional trek for those who don’t want to commit to a multi-week trek, and simply want to explore the Karakoram and experience trekking in a stunning part of Pakistan.
When Eduard Koblmiller set foot in the valley during his successful K6 expedition in 1970, he described it as a place of "unusual and primordial beauty". The Nangma Valley looks like an impressionist painting with extreme colour contrasts and abstract lines that point to the sky with astonishing verticality. The valley's beauty is almost touching, and unlike other and much more famous places, the base camps are only a short hike from the valley.
Starting in Islamabad, you will take a stunning flight over the Karakoram to Skardu. Rest in Skardu and then spend the next day exploring this beautiful part of Pakistan as you drive to Kaplu. Day 4 is a 2 hour drive to Kanday Village and your trailhead, from where you start this trek. Days 5, 6 and 7 allow you to explore the valley, and then trek to a transfer that will take you to Shigar. Day 8 takes you to Skardu and your flight back to Islamabad, with Day 9 as a contingency day in case flights are delayed.
Arrive at Islamabad International Airport and transfer to the hotel. Participants will enjoy leisure time to relax and recover from the journey on this day. In the afternoon you can enjoy a city tour (visit Faisal Mosque, Pakistan Monument, Lok Virsa museum etc.)
Fly from Islamabad airport to Skardu on a one-hour scenic flight. Then have a free day for sightseeing and exploring Skardu Bazar. You will have a tour and visit Manthal Rock Budha, Kharpocho fort, Organic Village and Skardu Bazar. In case of flight cancellation due to weather, drive from Islamabad via Karakoram Highway with short stops at various touristic spots.
Today you drive to Khaplu, passing through small villages of Ghanche district. Along the way you will have short stops at the meeting point of Shayok & Indus Rivers, Thorgo Pari and visit Yugo. Enjoy a traditional lunch at Yugo and a cultural walk in the streets of Yugo to witness village life and meet locals. Later in the late afternoon, drive to Khaplu and check into the hotel with leisure time to visit the Khaplu fort museum and organic garden.
After breakfast, drive from Khaplu to Kanday village (2 hours), then hike to Mingulo Broq. Leisure time to explore the natural beauty of the area. This trail goes through beautiful, lush green meadows and the magnificent scenery of rocky walls—free time in the afternoon for natural exploration.
A beautiful hike from Mingulo Broq to Nangma Valley, passing through lush green fields & parallel to the glacial stream. After lunch at the campsite, leisure time to explore the area.
Free day at Nangma valley with an optional day hike to Amin Brakk base camp. Wake up early to enjoy a mesmerizing sunrise, visit the nearby glacial stream, test your scrambling skills on nearby rocks, or venture out to spot some of the numerous Karakoram birds and flower species.
Trek back to Kanday & have a traditional lunch with a local host family. Then drive to Shigar with short stops at various touristic spots. Check into the hotel & have free time in the evening
Drive from Shigar to Skardu airport (1 hour) and fly to Islamabad (1 hour). Transfer to hotel & sightseeing after lunch.
If you cannot fly due to the weather, you will travel down to Islamabad by road. If you fly from Skardu to Islamabad, then today you will enjoy sightseeing in the capital, and your tour leader will advise you on the options available for today. Day excursion to the Taxila museum and archaeological sites will be one of the options.
After breakfast, transfer from the hotel to the airport for international flights.
This guided tour is run as a scheduled group tour and you will be trekking with other travellers from around the world. In addition, you can book a private tour for your group only, where the pricing depends on your travelling dates, as well as the number of members in your group.

I’ve been using 10Adventures route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10Adventures made that happen.

I was going through a tough time and really needed a getaway so I decided to book a tour through 10Adventures. My trip to Peru changed my life in so many positive and eye-opening ways. I am so thankful for the kind, empathetic team at 10Adventures.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

My wife Sarah and I had a great experience booking our 7-day cycling trip through Portugal via 10Adventures. The communication between us and Nadine leading up the trip was top-notch!

Communicating with 10Adventures feels like talking with a family-run business. I love to explore and travel, and exploring with the comfort of knowing I can talk to the team at 10Adventures with almost immediate feedback helps to ease any stress that comes with adventuring!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I tend to have a lot of questions before travelling and was so happy to find that the team at 10Adventures responded to every single one of my inquiries in a timely fashion. I was never left waiting and waiting for a response. This was much appreciated!

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.

Wow! I am so happy with the experience I had with booking through 10Adventures for my tour in Italy! I worked with Nadine and she was super easy-going and helpful when it came to tweaking the itinerary provided on the website. 10/10 would book through 10Adventures again.
