Night 1
Hotel near Prachovské Skály
After getting your legs warmed up, you’ll be able to unwind in a 3-star hotel near the dramatic Prachovské Skály rocks.
Immerse yourself in the most beautiful natural areas of Central Europe
While the cities of the Czech Republic and Germany certainly earn their fair share of accolades, the natural regions in between are home to some of the most enchanting views in Central Europe. The Natural Beauty of the Czech Republic and Germany tour takes you to all the magical places in between, giving you the chance to connect with the natural side of these incredible countries.
From the highest summit in the Czech Republic to the most unique rock formations in Germany, you’ll get to know the Giant Mountains and the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Cruise up in cable cars, walk through gorgeous meadows, and dine in restaurants with unmatched views. Ride in a rowboat on the Kamenice River, snap photos of the natural towers and bridge of Bastei, and marvel at the dramatic sandstone arch of Pravčická brána. After whirlwind days in the parks and mountains, you’ll cap it all off in Dresden, walking through palace complexes adorned with pristine gardens and stellar Baroque architecture. The Natural Beauty of the Czech Republic and Germany tour is perfect for the nature lover in all of us!
Your tour begins in Prague, a colourful Gothic-meets Baroque-meets Renaissance city with tons of historical buildings. You won’t be here too long, though- you’ll be picked up in the city and then it’s off to Bohemia, where you’ll settle into a hotel in the Giant Mountains (Krkonoše range).
The Krkonoše Mountains hug the border with Poland and are home to the highest peaks in the Czech Republic, and today you’ll be treated to an in-depth exploration of them. Start with a cable car ride up the range’s tallest mountain, Sněžka, where you’ll cross the border into Poland at the top. Enjoy lunch with a major view, then wander over to the glacial corries, stone ridges, and alpine meadows that are all within walking distance. If you pause and listen carefully, you can hear the rumbling of nearby waterfalls.
Once you’re done with your mountain adventure, you’ll head back down to your hotel in the Giant Mountains.
In the morning, head off to Czech Switzerland, a picturesque region in the northwestern part of the country near the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. This is where portions of the Narnia films were shot. Watch how traditional blown-glass pearls are made in Poniklá, then head to a popular lookout atop a nearby mountain. You can choose to head up the mountain by foot, cable car, or car.
Stop for lunch at a restaurant with lovely countryside views before stopping by the Panska Skala rock, which is a basalt rock in the shape of a piano.
Spend more time in the park of Czech Switzerland today, taking a walk to the Pravčická brána rock formation, a narrow natural bridge surrounded by green trees. Next, head down into the deep gorges alongside the Kamenice River, hopping into a rowboat to explore from the water itself.
Ready to check off another country? After breakfast you’ll head into Germany, taking some time to explore Saxon Switzerland. Stop at the Bastei rock formation, where dramatic sandstone towers surround an old stone bridge. Next, you’ll explore Lilisnstein, hiking up to a table mountain with a great restaurant. Another lunch with a view!
Finally, it’s off to Königstein, the largest rock fortress in Europe. You’ll end today feeling like you’ve stepped into a movie.
Wake up in Dresden, the “Florence of the Elbe.” It’s an unparalleled example of Baroque architecture in Germany, and you’ll be wowed as you stroll its streets. If you want more time to enjoy Dresden, you can pre-book some additional nights. If not, it’s time to get ready to head home.

I’ve been using 10Adventures route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10Adventures made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

My wife Sarah and I had a great experience booking our 7-day cycling trip through Portugal via 10Adventures. The communication between us and Nadine leading up the trip was top-notch!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
