Arrive in the picturesque town of Trouville-sur-Mer, known for its vibrant harbor and sandy beaches. Spend the day exploring the charming streets, sampling fresh seafood, or relaxing by the seaside.

Transfer to Pennedepie to begin your walk through the Bois du Breuil, passing beech, ash and oak trees and, in May, vibrant rhododendrons. The trail climbs to the chapel of Notre-Dame de Grâce for fine views over Honfleur and the Pont de Normandie, then descends into Honfleur for time to explore before your afternoon transfer back to Trouville-sur-Mer.

In the morning you will set off on foot to reach Deauville, a stunning town. Head back to the sea and return to your accomodation. You will then need to arrange your own transportation between Deauville and Bayeux and take your own bags on the train. The train is the best option, and takes approximate 1h 30m.

This morning's short transfer takes you to Ryes, a small village inland. The walk begins in the footsteps of William the Conqueror through the countryside, through fields and farms, before reaching the coast and its tragic and more recent history. Passing through Arromanches, you can choose to visit the 360° cinema and the D-Day Museum, or you can enjoy a swim. The route then continues along the cliffs to Longues sur Mer and the old German batteries. A taxi will be waiting to take you back to Bayeux.

While the routes follow well-marked paths, there are some gentle ascents and descents along the cliffs and countryside. The terrain includes beaches, rural paths, and sometimes rocky sections, so sturdy walking shoes and walking poles are highly recommended.

You can reach Trouville sur Mer by taking a local train from Paris to Trouville (2h – 2h30). Alternatively, you can fly into Caen airport and take a taxi from there to Trouville. There are also options to reach Trouville via Lisieux train station (with transfer to Trouville).
This is a self-guided tour where guide services are not provided, however, you will be provided all the tour material in English, as well as a helpline phone number.
The tour ends in Bayeux, where you’ll stay at Hotel le Bayeux. From there, you can easily reach Caen airport for your departure. A transfer to the airport from Bayeux can be arranged for an additional fee.
