Itinerary for Patagonia Estancias & E-Bike Adventure
Arrive in Puerto Natales and Transfer to Puerto Bories
Begin with a scenic transfer from Puerto Natales Airport to the hotel in Puerto Bories, taking in sweeping views of Última Esperanza Sound, Balmaceda Glacier, and the rugged Patagonian mountains along the way.
After settling in, join a detailed trip briefing with your knowledgeable local guides, covering the journey ahead, answering questions, and offering the chance to test the e-bikes. The day concludes with dinner at a local restaurant, where regional flavours and lively conversation set the tone for the adventure to come!
Pedal to the Prehistoric Milodón Cave
Set out on a scenic cycling adventure along the shores of Última Esperanza Sound and Eberhard Fjord, passing through Puerto Pratt before continuing to Puerto Consuelo. Founded in 1893 by pioneering settler Hermann Eberhard, the estancia played an important role in the region’s early sheep-farming history and Eberhard’s exploration eventually led to the discovery of the Mylodon Cave.
From here, continue toward Villa Cerro Castillo, either by support vehicle or by cycling 35 kilometres along the peaceful Castillo Viejo Road. Sweeping views, wide-open landscapes, and rugged Patagonian scenery make this a memorable finish to the day.
Ride the Patagonian Trails to Estancia San Luis
Begin the day surrounded by postcard-worthy views of the Paine Massif while travelling toward Estancia San Luis. Set along the Chile–Argentina border, the estancia once belonged to the Sociedad Explotadora de Tierra del Fuego, a prominent livestock company that played an important role in the region’s ranching history.
Spanning approximately 13,000 hectares, the property supported livestock farming for more than 45 years before expanding into tourism through years of dedication and perseverance. Today, visitors can experience sweeping panoramas of the Paine Massif and Sierra Baguales, the next destination on the journey.
From Estancia San Luis into the Baguales
Continue toward the end of Route 9 and into the remote Sierra Baguales, a striking volcanic mountain range shaped by centuries of erosion. Jagged basalt formations rise above sweeping golden steppes, creating a landscape that feels wild, isolated, and remarkably untouched.
Far from Patagonia’s busier attractions, Hacienda 3R offers a rare sense of stillness and authenticity. Surrounded by raw natural beauty, the estancia provides an ideal setting to slow down, take in the silence, and experience the timeless character of Patagonian life.
Patagonian Backroads to Estancia Lazo
After breakfast, depart Estancia 3R and descend along the previous day’s route before turning toward Lake Sarmiento. The ride follows the shoreline through beautiful lenga forest and dramatic rock formations, with striking views of the Paine Massif unfolding along the way.
The day ends at Estancia Lazo, a 13,000-hectare cattle ranch founded more than a century ago and still operating today. Set beside Laguna Verde beneath the towering Paine Massif, the estancia offers a peaceful and memorable Patagonian setting.
Laguna Azul Loop Ride
Before leaving Torres del Paine National Park, enjoy one final spectacular ride from Laguna Azul to Laguna Amarga. The route passes through Cañadón Macho, crosses wildlife-rich Patagonian landscapes, and includes a stop at the iconic Paine Waterfall. After breakfast, a 30-minute transfer leads to Laguna Azul, where the ride begins along a horseshoe-shaped route near the park boundary. Guanacos, foxes, coots, swans, ducks, and woodpeckers are often seen along the way, while the lagoon provides an impressive view of the three granite towers.
Following the ride, return to Puerto Natales and complete the adventure at Estancia Puerto Bories, where the journey began.
End of Your Patagonia E-Bike Tour
After breakfast, the journey through Patagonia comes to an end with a transfer to Puerto Natales Airport, leaving plenty of time to reflect on the unforgettable landscapes, remote estancias, and remarkable experiences shared along the way.
