Day 5 Cross the Italian Border
Enjoy your final breakfast in Austria because you’re headed for Italy today. Cycling along a river (yes, another one!), you’ll soon enter Italy close to the three-nation corner of Austria, Italy, and Slovenia, countries that all share the Alps. Ride through a vast valley of lush vegetation, inhaling cool mountain air as you ride into Italy.
To shorten today’s trip, you’re welcome to take a train for a section (on your own dime), or you can ride the whole way. Either way, you’ll end up in Moggio Udinese, Tolmezzo, or Venzone (depending on availability) for the night.
