9-Day Guided Highlights of the Tour du Mont Blanc in Mountain Huts

Welcome to Chamonix, a charming alpine town nestled beneath the magnificent Mont Blanc massif! After settling into your hotel, take some time to explore the lively streets, browse the local shops, or relax at one of the many cafés while enjoying the spectacular mountain scenery. In the early evening, meet your guide and fellow hikers for a welcome briefing, followed by a delicious dinner together as you prepare for your Tour du Mont Blanc adventure.

After breakfast, a short transfer takes you to Les Houches, where you will board the Bellevue cable car and ascend to 1,780 m, enjoying spectacular views of the Mont Blanc massif. Your hike begins with a scenic traverse towards the Bionnassay Glacier, followed by a walk through beautiful alpine meadows to the Tricot Pass (2,120 m). Take in the breathtaking views of the Contamines-Montjoie Valley before descending to the traditional hamlet of Miage. From here, the trail winds around Mont Truc and continues down to the charming village of Les Contamines-Montjoie, where you will spend the night in a mountain hut.

After breakfast, a short transfer takes you to Notre-Dame-de-la-Gorge, where your hike begins near a beautiful Baroque church marking the start of an ancient Roman road through the Alps. Follow the trail steadily uphill to the Col du Bonhomme (2,329 m), situated between the Mont Blanc massif and the Beaufortain range. Continue ascending to the Col de la Croix du Bonhomme (2,433 m), where spectacular views of Mont Pourri and the surrounding peaks await. From here, descend through picturesque alpine pastures to the traditional mountain hamlet of Les Chapieux.

Start your day with a morning transfer to La Ville des Glaciers, stopping at a local farm along the way to learn how the famous Beaufort cheese is made. From here, hike through beautiful alpine meadows towards the Col de la Seigne (2,516 m), where you will cross the border into Italy and enjoy spectacular views of the Mont Blanc massif. Continue descending through the scenic Val Veny Valley to the foot of the Miage Glacier, where a private transfer will take you to the charming Italian mountain town of Courmayeur for the night.

Today’s hike takes you through one of the most spectacular sections of the Tour du Mont Blanc. Leaving Courmayeur behind, climb towards the Bertone Hut (2,000 m), where breathtaking views of the Grandes Jorasses and Mont Blanc massif await. Continue along the famous panoramic balcony trail through Val Ferret, surrounded by towering peaks and magnificent alpine scenery. Enjoy the stunning mountain views as you make your way to either the Bonatti or Elena Hut, where you will spend the night.

Today, you will cross the border from Italy into Switzerland, enjoying spectacular alpine scenery along the way. Begin with a descent towards the Elena Hut (2,061 m), nestled beneath the impressive Mont Dolent, before climbing to the Grand Col Ferret (2,537 m). From the pass, take in breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains as you enter Switzerland. Continue descending through the beautiful alpine meadows of the Swiss Val Ferret towards the charming village of La Fouly. From here, a short private transfer takes you to Champex.

Today's hike takes you through the beautiful Swiss Alps, with two possible routes depending on the weather, trail conditions, and your group's experience. Your guide may lead you through peaceful alpine pastures towards Bovine, where spectacular views of the Rhône Valley await. Alternatively, if conditions allow, you may tackle the more challenging route over the Fenêtre d'Arpette (2,665 m), a dramatic mountain pass beneath the impressive Trient Glacier. Both routes offer magnificent alpine scenery before descending to the picturesque village of Trient.

Today, you will leave Switzerland behind and make your way back into France. From Trient, climb towards the Col de Balme (2,191 m), where breathtaking panoramic views of the Chamonix Valley await. Admire the magnificent Mont Blanc massif, the Mer de Glace, and the Argentière Glacier dominating the skyline. Continue along scenic mountain trails towards the Aiguillette des Posettes before descending through peaceful forests to the charming alpine village of Le Tour.

Your final day of hiking takes you along one of the most spectacular sections of the Tour du Mont Blanc. Starting from the Col des Montets, follow a scenic panoramic trail through the Aiguilles Rouges Nature Reserve towards the beautiful Chéserys Lakes and the famous Lac Blanc (2,352 m). Here, the crystal-clear waters reflect the snow-capped peaks of the Mont Blanc massif, creating a truly unforgettable sight. Keep an eye out for alpine ibex as you continue towards La Flégère, where a cable car takes you down for your return to Chamonix, marking the end of your incredible alpine adventure.
