Night 1-6
Hotels along Piedmont
You’ll spend each night of this tour in comfortable, welcoming hotels in different towns, all with welcome hosts and cozy rooms to enjoy.
Cycle through Piedmont from vineyard to village to sea
The Vineyards and Coasts of Piedmont Tour is a chance to experience one of Italy’s best regions off the beaten path, riding from the beautiful Langhe area to the Ligurian Sea over one week. You’ll ride through famous vineyards and old villages full of historic charm, spending the week riding along peaceful back roads to get into authentic Italy and away from the tourist path.
Enchanting villages, pristine nature, and the Ligurian Sea define this adventure. Ride along the road where the famous Milano-Sanremo bike race takes place, taking advantage of an intermediate difficulty level that lets you enjoy the scenery while on the bike. Finally, since this area is also well known for its delicious cuisine, particularly white and black truffles and cheeses, you’ll dine well after each ride. What a dream!
You’ll arrive in Alba, where you can settle in before preparing your bike and enjoying a welcome dinner with the group.
After breakfast, start to pedal south. You’ll ride through an incredible landscape of rolling hills surrounded by vineyards, visiting typical old villages in the Barolo wine production area. You’ll stop in famous characteristic villages for a traditional cappuccino and cornetto break.
Tonight, enjoy a delicious dinner with local organic wine.
Today, head to the southeast Langhe area. Departing from Alba, you’ll head to the first town of the day, Canelli. This area, known for its Asti Spumante white wine, was appointed a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014. You’ll be far from the traffic today. You can’t miss your daily coffee and snack break in the old village squares!
This evening you’ll enjoy another great dinner together.
Today, you’ll ride into a new region of Italy. Pass from the vineyard countryside to wild hills. This area divides the Piedmont region from the Liguria region. You’ll ride through rolling hills, dealing with some demanding but short ascents followed by breezy descents.
Millesimo, a village in the High Bormida Valley in the Regional Park of Bric Tana, is your goal today. This evening you’ll have a new regional cuisine for dinner, trying new flavors and tasting a new kind of wine.
Ride through the mountains this morning, passing through pretty mountain villages en route to Calizzano. Here the ascent starts—thankfully, it’s an easy ascent that takes place in a beautiful beech wood. Up in the mountains, admire old barracks and a fortress built in 1883.
Finally, you will see the Ligurian Sea in the distance. Descend from the pass to the beach. As a reward for your effort, a cold drink is waiting for you on the beach.
Liguria is famous for its extraordinary sea and beaches, but is also well-known for its immaculate backcountry full of flower crops, one of the most important products of this area. Leave your accommodation after breakfast and start to climb up towards one of the countless tiny villages overlooking the sea.
With the mountains on one side and the sea on the other, you’ll reach beautiful natural terraces with breathtaking sea views, and after a descent, you can ride your last kilometers on the Milano-Sanremo Road alongside the coast. Your last dinner, on an exclusive patio on the sea, is the perfect way to end this adventure.
After a week in paradise, it’s time to head home. Make your way to the airport or the train station.
This guided tour is always run as a group tour where you’d be joining a group, however, custom private tours can be organized for groups of 4 and more (please contact us with your preferred date and the number of people in your group and we will create the itinerary just for you).

I’ve been using 10Adventures route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10Adventures made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

My wife Sarah and I had a great experience booking our 7-day cycling trip through Portugal via 10Adventures. The communication between us and Nadine leading up the trip was top-notch!

Communicating with 10Adventures feels like talking with a family-run business. I love to explore and travel, and exploring with the comfort of knowing I can talk to the team at 10Adventures with almost immediate feedback helps to ease any stress that comes with adventuring!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
