Route Description for Crans Montana 100th Anniversary Walk
Departing from Crans and its Severiano Ballesteros golf course, the Crans Montana 100th Anniversary Walk will take you through charming shopping streets with their luxury boutiques, local produce and sports shops.
Crossing the resort towards Montana, you will be guided towards Lake Grenon and the Parc Hill, where you will see the resort's first hotel. Upon arriving in Montana, you can pause for a break and try your chance at the casino or let your spirit wander in the Ycoor gardens, a magnificent oasis of tranquility in the heart of the resort where the New Zealand writer Katherine Mansfield regularly came to recharge her batteries.
After, the route passes by old sanatoriums that contributed to the economic development and renown of the resort. The history continues at the bottom of the Nationale piste, the famous stage for the Alpine skiing world championships. These took place in 1987, the golden era of Swiss skiing, with its heroes Pirmin Zurbriggen, Peter Müller and Erika Hess, to name but a few. Eventually, you will arrive at the endpoint of the Crans Montana 100th Anniversary Walk in Aminona.
