Cox Tor Walk
If you are looking for a relatively quick and painless adventure in Dartmoor National Park that will provide panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, then the Cox Tor Walk is a great option. Although you will be walking uphill to reach the viewpoint, the terrain is fairly laid back until you reach the rocky summit, which makes for a pleasant day on the trails that can be enjoyed by nearly anyone. Don’t forget to wear good walking shoes in order to secure the best footing along the trail.

Route Description for Cox Tor Walk
Walking to the summit of Cox Tor is a fun adventure across the rugged terrain of the moor that is perfectly suited for beginner walkers or families with children that are looking to experience stunning views with minimal effort. Setting out from the car park, you will head to the north across the road and begin to make your way gradually uphill across the barren terrain of the moor. Eventually, you will reach the rocky summit, where you will enjoy sweeping panoramic views overlooking Dartmoor National Park. After taking in the views, simply head back down the same path to return to the trailhead.
Getting to the Cox Tor Walk Trailhead
To reach the trailhead for the Cox Tor Walk from the nearby town of Tavistock, drive to the east for 4.8 km along Mount Tavy Road/B3357 and turn right to enter the car park.
