Veterans Park Trail

The Veterans Park Trail is a short hiking route near Los Angeles that offers some scenic views of the undulating terrain that flanks the San Fernando Valley. While out on the trail, you will climb up into the hills along a paved pathway, before looping around through the canyon landscape for a return into the trailhead. For those who want a bit more of a rugged adventure, there is also a dirt path that runs roughly parallel to the paved track and features a steeper climb.

Route Description for Veterans Park Trail
If you are after a short and scenic hike that still features a bit of rugged terrain, then the Veterans Park Trail is a great option near L.A. to explore. The park also features a great disc golf course, offering an extra reason to set out on a day excursion in the area!
Setting out from the parking lot in Veterans Park, you will make your way to the northwest for a short distance to meet up with the May Canyon Truck Trail. Here, you will follow the road to the northeast, before turning left at the fork onto a dirt path.
Take your time here as you climb uphill to appreciate the natural beauty of the surrounding views, before eventually arriving back at the edge of the road. Turning to the left, you will follow the May Canyon Truck Trail back downhill through the canyon to arrive at the trailhead where you began.
Those who want to experience a longer and more challenging hike in the area can look into the May Canyon Ridge Loop.
