Evergreen Lookout Trail

Evergreen Lookout provides breathtaking views over Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, and at only 5.0 km, this lightly trafficked trail is like an express lane to mountain views. With 405 m of elevation gain over that short ascent, it’s a bit of a leg burner. We definitely recommend trying it in the fall when the foliage is at its most colorful.

Route Description for Evergreen Lookout Trail
The Evergreen Lookout is a fantastic vantage point overlooking a sea of mountaintops. This lookout is quickly reached via a 2.5 km ascent, but with an exposed ridgewalk and 405 m of elevation required on the way, it’s still a challenging, fun hike. Before bringing your kids, consider that other users have felt a bit too precarious on the ridge with younger ones in tow.
The hike begins from the parking area, curving through two wide switchbacks before zig-zagging up the ridge. On top of the ridge, the elevation gain feels more gradual for a while, but we recommend watching your steps and taking your time as the sides are sheer.
Push up the ridge to the false summit, then go right to crest Evergreen Mountain. Enjoy the great view before taking the same trail back to the parking lot.
