Love Lake Trail

The Love Lake Trail is a 5.3 km out-and-back hiking route in Strathcona Provincial Park that can only be accessed by boat and provides spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. This trail packs a real punch with 692 m of elevation gain, making it a physically demanding grind that is sure to leave your legs tired. Route Description for Love Lake Trail
Hiking the Love Lake Trail is a challenging but rewarding experience that will leave you with tired legs and great memories of the long journey to reach the lake. This trail is only accessible by boat, so hikers will need to either paddle the 45.0 km across the lake or rent a water taxi. From there, you will need to hike 13.5 km along the Della Falls Trail and traverse a cable car to reach the Love Lake Trail. As if that weren’t enough of an adventure already, the trail itself is a steep 5.3 km grind that climbs through the dense tree cover along a series of switchbacks.
When you finally get to the lake, your perseverance will be rewarded with fantastic views overlooking the lake and the rugged Mount Rosseau and Mount Septimus in the backdrop. It might be a whole ordeal just to get to the trailhead, but the scenic views and the experience itself are far worth the effort.
Getting to the Love Lake Trail Trailhead
Accessing this trailhead can only be done by boat. Hikers can either paddle the 45.0 km to reach the trailhead or hire a water taxi for an easier and more fun route.
