Old Cabin Loop

Route Description for Old Cabin Loop
Hiking along the Old Cabin Loop is a fun adventure that the entire family will love. The trail is relatively flat and comprises a mixture of wide gravel paths and wooden boardwalks, providing accessibility to hikers of all skill levels.
As you make your way around the loop, you will pass through beautiful sections of forest and hike alongside the Paradise Ponds, small wetland bodies of water that are sure to be teeming with various species during the summer. Keep left at any junctions in the trail to stay on the correct route as you make your way around the loop to the starting point. For those who want to explore the area further, grab a trail map from the Strathcona Park Wilderness Centre and follow some of the nearby trails to go on a different adventure.
Getting to the Old Cabin Loop Trailhead
To access the parking area for the Old Cabin Loop from the Mount Washington Alpine Resort, head south on the Strathcona Parkway and make a right turn after 1.3 km onto Nordic Drive. Continue for 2.4 km to get to the parking lot at the Strathcona Park Wilderness Centre.
