Route Description for Dewey, Crocker, and Stanford Point via Pohono Trail

The Dewey, Crocker, and Stanford Point via Pohono Trail is an excellent adventure that exhibits vertigo-inducing vistas of Yosemite Valley and the famous granite features that adorn the landscape. Trek to not one, but three knee-buckling overlooks of the valley. Note: the overlooks sit on the steep bluff, so keep your distance from the edge, especially after a good rainfall. Glacier Point Road is subject to seasonal closure in the winter months, making the trail inaccessible by car. Additionally, Yosemite National Park charges an entrance fee, so be sure to refer to the NPS website for a pricing guide.

Embark upon your adventure along the Dewey, Crocker, and Stanford Point via Pohono Trail from the McGurk Meadow Trailhead. From here, head northeast through McGurk Meadow along the path until you reach an intersection. At the junction, veer left onto the Pohono Trail and wander northwest through mixed conifers and meadowlands. Eventually, you will reach Dewey Point for some epic views of El Capitan and the valley below. If the knee-buckling vistas have yet to deter you, then continue trekking over to Crocker and Stanford Point.

Both these points are located along the sheer cliffside, so maintain your distance. Revel in the panoramas of the dramatic granite peaks that line the horizon and, when you are ready, retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.
