    Route Description for Lukens Lake via White Wolf Campground Hike

    The Lukens Lake via White Wolf Campground Hike presents the perfect opportunity to get outside into the fresh air and explore the wilderness. Wander through mixed pine forests and lush meadows along the Middle Tuolumne River to reach a shimmering lake. Explore the diversity of the area’s flora and fauna as you get your steps in! Though not necessary, a trail GPS may prove useful, as some intersections are unmarked. Don’t forget to charge your camera, the wonderful scenery warrants plenty of photo opportunities. Note: the National Park charges an entrance fee; refer to the NPS website for additional details.

    Embark on your adventure along the Lukens Lake via White Wolf Campground Hike from the campground. From here, head west along the trail signposted for Lukens Lake. Follow this route through the mixed pine forests and along the running waters of the Middle Tuolumne River. At the first intersection, keep right and you will quickly arrive at another. Keep right here as well and follow the trail as it begins to climb more intensely. Mind your footing as you ascend the vertiginous terrain to the shore of Lukens Lake.

    Once you arrive at the lake, you will likely be joined by the other adventurers who approached the lake from a different way. Skirt around the perimeter of the charming lake and, when you are ready, retrace your footing along the route back to the trailhead.
