    Route Description for Tunnel View to Dewey Point Hike

    The Tunnel View to Dewey Point Trail is a must-add to your Yosemite adventure itinerary, as the overwhelming vistas of the impressive valley and the Sierra Nevada are a truly breathtaking sight to see! The terrain along this path is technical, so a pair of sturdy footwear and proper preparation is required. Pack plenty of water and snacks to stay fueled along this trek! Additionally, the granite outcrops and bluffs along the path become extremely slippery after rainfall, so mind your footing. The National Park requires an entrance fee, so be sure to check out the NPS website for additional information.

    Setting out from the trailhead, the Tunnel View to Dewey Point Hike follows the Pohono Trail through mixed pine forests and up several switchbacks. Soon after your departure from the trailhead, you will reach Inspiration Point. Revel in the vistas of Bridalveil Falls and El Capitan from here, before continuing your hike southeast and up the walls of the canyon. Crossing over Artist Creek and Meadow Brook, the path will weave between exposed meadowlands and pine forests before arriving at Dewey Point.

    Here, you will likely be joined by several other adventurers who took another scenic route to the epic overlook. Admire the breathtaking panoramas of El Capitan, Half Dome, and the Merced River below. When you are ready, retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.
