Route Description for Yosemite Point Hike

The Yosemite Point Trail is an awe-inspiring adventure in Yosemite National Park that exhibits breathtaking panoramas of Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, El Capitan, Glacier Point, and more. Revel in the epic vistas as you tackle this heart-pumping hike. Note: this vertiginous climb demands stamina and preparation, so plenty of water, snacks, and a sturdy pair of footwear are a must! Make sure to stay on the marked paths and keep your distance from the cliffside for safety. The Yosemite National Park charges a fee; refer to the NPS website for additional information.

Embark on your exciting excursion from the Upper Yosemite Falls Trailhead. From here, track the Upper Yosemite Falls Trail up a seemingly never-ending set of tightly wound switchbacks. After hiking up the steep terrain, you will soon reach the Columbia Rock Valley Lookout. Making sure to mind your footing on the slippery terrain, you will be guided to yet another overlook with views of Yosemite Falls. The trail will briefly plateau before an intense climb up to the top of the famous waterfalls.

Head out to the overlook of the immense cascades, then cross over Yosemite Creek and up to Yosemite Point. Revel in the impressive views of Half Dome, North Dome, Glacier Point, Sentinel Point, and more. After appreciating the grandeur of the terrain, retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.
