Happiness Promise
There are hundreds of thousands of guides and tour operators around the world. Figuring out who to trust is stressful and hard.
That’s why we started 10Adventures Tours, we’re here to make it easy to find a great guide or tour operator. We handpick the best local guides and tour operators for 10Adventures, working to ensure you have great guides and a great trip.
We know it sucks to show up in a different country and find out the tents are junk, the guide incompetent or the route different from what we thought we were getting.
We want to give our users peace of mind that you’ll have a great trip and offer a guarantee that we will work with you to make it right.
How does this work?
Well, if you feel that something about your trip didn’t’ meet your expectations, let us know. We will then work to gather the details and figure out where things went wrong. If something indeed wasn’t as described, or went wrong with your trip, and the problem was within the control of either oursleves, the guide or the tour company, we will then work out a refund with you that’s proportional to the scale of the problem.
Obviously the best way to make a great trip is to tell your local guide or tour operator and give them the chance to fix the solution while you are on your trip. Most things can be solved by telling your guide when the issue develops. If that doesn’t solve it, then email us right away. Please don’t wait to voice your concerns until the trip is over, as it’s much harder to solve issues after the fact.
We work hard to make sure you have a great trip. If something isn’t right, please email hello@10adventures.co and we will get to work right away.

Sleep in comfort while you trek Kilimanjaro on the Marangu route
Take the first step towards a private travel experience, customized just for you.
About this tour:
Want to take on Mount Kilimanjaro but unsure of the best way? There is a lot to love about taking this guided trek up the Marangu route in 6 days! The “Coca-Cola” route is popular for its comfortable mountain huts and the convivial atmosphere at camp. The majority of the trail is on wide paths that aren’t too steep, so it’s an excellent way to get adjusted to the high altitude.
Trekking this route in 6 days instead of 5 will not only help your body adjust to the thin air but will give you more time to relax in preparation for the very challenging final ascent to the peak. You’ll also have plenty of time to explore the landscape and even take a quick hike by Mawenzi Peak if you’re feeling energetic. Your guides, porters and cooks will take good care of you to ensure you are prepared for the challenging trek from Kibo hut up to the summit of Uhuru Peak. If you’re going to climb Kilimanjaro, this could be the perfect way to do it!
After your arrival and settling in the hotel, you’ll meet the representative for a pre-trek briefing, where your equipment will be assessed, and any required rentals can be arranged locally.
Your tour begins with the hour ride from your hotel in Moshi to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate. You’ll have to go through some registration at the gate, but you’ll be on trekking in no time! Today your path will be through the lush rainforest vegetation, so look for birds and monkeys in the trees. A great opportunity to see monkeys presents if you decide to take the short side trip to Maundi Crater before you return to camp.
The trail today will start to climb out of the trees and you’ll begin trekking across the open moorlands. You’ll be gaining a lot of elevation today! You’ll be spending the next two nights at the lively Horombo Hut, so be sure to enjoy the social atmosphere.
It’s up to you to decide what you’d like to do today. Relax, enjoy the views, make new friends, and fuel up on hearty food in preparation for the rest of your journey. If you’re feeling restless, take a hike by Mawenzi Peak.
The landscape will change again today as you climb up into the alpine desert it will begin to look more like a lunar landscape! Your porters will be collecting water from the last source of water along the trail. You may still be well rested from yesterday, but you’ll still want to go to bed early in preparation for tomorrow morning’s midnight departure!
It will still be dark when you begin your hike sometime around midnight. Today will be the most challenging day of the trek, as the air is very thin and you’ll be hiking some very steep switchbacks with heavy scree and tricky footing. After you’ve reached Gilman’s Point the sun should be up, and you’ll have the snow-capped peak in your sights. The view from the top of Uhuru Peak will be spectacular! Make sure to celebrate with lots of photos before you begin your descent back down to Kibo Hut for lunch and Horombo Hut for the night.
Your last day on the mountain will be a welcome return to the rainforest and the lower elevations. Once you’ve reached the park gate your vehicle will be waiting to drive you back to your hotel in Moshi.
Today, after a good night’s sleep, you’ll head to the airport for your departure flight. Goodbye, Kilimanjaro!
