Take in the natural beauty of the Northern Lights
Embark on a bucket-list adventure in Northern Canada's Yukon territory, where the Aurora Borealis ripples into the night sky, rendering its audience mesmerized as it ebbs and flows.
Viewings of the spectacular and mystical Northern Lights are commonplace in the Yukon, and most often take place just outside of the city. The Aurora Borealis Tour invites you to join the show and enjoy the magic for yourself with a front-row seat. A heated, cozy cabin or wall tent is available for your comfort, where you can enjoy hot drinks and snacks while taking in the sights.
During the day, you can “spice-up” your winter experience by booking half or full-day tours. They consist of dog mushing, snowmobiling, ice fishing & snowshoeing. Sample it all by selecting the popular “Winter Adventure Activity Package”.
The duration of the Aurora Borealis Tour can be anywhere from 3 to 5 days. It allows your northern adventure in the Yukon to be as action-packed or laidback as you wish. It also provides you with every opportunity to fully experience the beauty of Whitehorse and its shimmering Northern Lights.
After arriving at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in downtown Whitehorse, which is located within walking distance of all attractions, restaurants, banks and stores. An informational meeting and registration for optional tours will conveniently be held at the hotel. Take some time to fit the winter clothing (optional), explore the shops in Whitehorse, and dine out on your own. At 10pm, you will depart for an Aurora Borealis viewing, where a cozy, heated cabin or wall tent with hot drinks and snacks will make the experience even more enjoyable. Return to your hotel around 2.30am.
After a solid sleep-in morning, you will take a 10.00 am city tour of Main Street, the Train Depot of the White Pass and Yukon Route, the Visitor Reception Center, Log Skyscraper, Log Church, Sternwheeler SS Klondike, Fish ladder, Schwatka Lake and some of the residential areas in Whitehorse. In the afternoon, you will have the chance to take part in one of the optional tours. 10pm will once again see you depart for a spectacular Aurora viewing. Again, a warm-up cabin with hot drinks and snacks is provided, and you may also sit around a roaring fire and share stories. Return to your hotel around 2.30am.
After sleeping in once again, you will be able to spend the morning at your own leisure. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to add optional tours to see more of the Yukon. Click on Optional Extras to see pricing for daytrips that take you ice fishing, snowshoeing, dog sledding, winter hiking, snowmobiling and more.
At 10pm there will be another viewing of the Aurora Borealis, with a return to your hotel around 2.30am. This day can be repeated based on the overall duration of your tour.
After exploring Whitehorse, experiencing its history and culture, and taking in the natural beauty of the Northern Lights, you will say goodbye to the capital city of the Yukon. A quick transfer to the airport will have you all set for your flight home.

I’ve been using 10Adventures route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10Adventures made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
