Night 1-2
Hotel in Cadaqués
Cadaqués is a town loved by many, and you’ll be able to fully appreciate its charm as you stay for two nights.
Explore the perfect Catalonian coastline by bike
Oh, the Catalonian Coast. This near-perfect region of Spain is home to the Costa Brava, one of the country’s top destinations. Discover it all on the Cycling Tour of the Catalonian Coast, the ideal window into life in Catalonia. You might like it too much to leave!
From the coast to the inland regions, you’ll find traditional villages to pop into around every corner. Shake hands with the locals, sample the tapas, and then hop on your bike to keep exploring. You’ll find ruins from 575 B.C., fragrant fruit orchards, and well-kept paths to ride. Pedalling along the coast, you’ll be followed by a sea breeze and tempted by white sand beaches and turquoise waters. The Cycling Tour of the Catalonian Coast is the perfect active week in Spain!
You’ll be picked up from the airport and driven to Cadaqués to kick off your tour. You’ll have a welcome meeting to get all the information you need for your tour and be fitted for your bike.
After your meeting, you’ll be free to enjoy the local galleries, restaurants, or beaches.
Before you go too far, take some time today to explore Cadaqués. It’s considered one of the most beautiful villages on the Costa Brava. Enjoy its idyllic streets and perfect beach views before heading off towards Cap de Creus Natural Park. This rocky park is moonlike in its landscape, and there’s a fabulous view of a lighthouse perched atop a high cliff to be found.
Once you’ve explored the park, head back to Cadaqués, perhaps stopping at Salvador Dali’s house in Portlligat (prior reservation required).
After enjoying breakfast, you’ll be driven to Vilaminscle to start your ride. The views over the nearby vineyards and cork oak forests are gorgeous, and the Bay of Roses is an absolute jewel. Enjoy these views as you ride to Perlada, filled with ornate castles and wineries. Feel free to stop for a sip if you’d like!
You’ll end the day in Sant Pere Pescador, a breezy coastal village.
Depart from Sant Pere along a biking path that hugs the coast. You’ll be able to stop and explore the most important Greco-Roman ruins on the Iberian Peninsula, the Empúries ruins.
Continue beside fruit orchards and farmer’s fields to L’Estartit, right on the ocean with the Medes Islands in view.
Head inland this morning, riding towards Baix Empordà. Welcoming medieval villages line your route, so swing into Peratallada or Ullastret for a snack break or to chat up the locals. The landscape is ever-changing on the route island, and it ends at the fascinating historical site of Pals.
Once you’ve thoroughly explored Pals, you’ll ride to the stellar Calella de Palafrugell for the night.
Choo choo, you’re riding out along the Little Train Trail today! This old railway is now a biking path, and it provides a smooth ride to Palamós, known for its tasty “gambas,” or Spanish garlic shrimp. Enjoy the buzzing harbour and peaceful town centre here before pedalling along the sea towards Calella. The route back is flat and easy, so you can just relax and enjoy the great views the whole way home.
Leaving the Costa Brava is not easy, but your tour has come to an end. You can either book an extension to spend a few more days here or head back to the airport to depart.

I’ve been using 10Adventures route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10Adventures made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

My wife Sarah and I had a great experience booking our 7-day cycling trip through Portugal via 10Adventures. The communication between us and Nadine leading up the trip was top-notch!

Communicating with 10Adventures feels like talking with a family-run business. I love to explore and travel, and exploring with the comfort of knowing I can talk to the team at 10Adventures with almost immediate feedback helps to ease any stress that comes with adventuring!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
