Happiness Promise
There are hundreds of thousands of guides and tour operators around the world. Figuring out who to trust is stressful and hard.
That’s why we started 10Adventures Tours, we’re here to make it easy to find a great guide or tour operator. We handpick the best local guides and tour operators for 10Adventures, working to ensure you have great guides and a great trip.
We know it sucks to show up in a different country and find out the tents are junk, the guide incompetent or the route different from what we thought we were getting.
We want to give our users peace of mind that you’ll have a great trip and offer a guarantee that we will work with you to make it right.
How does this work?
Well, if you feel that something about your trip didn’t’ meet your expectations, let us know. We will then work to gather the details and figure out where things went wrong. If something indeed wasn’t as described, or went wrong with your trip, and the problem was within the control of either oursleves, the guide or the tour company, we will then work out a refund with you that’s proportional to the scale of the problem.
Obviously the best way to make a great trip is to tell your local guide or tour operator and give them the chance to fix the solution while you are on your trip. Most things can be solved by telling your guide when the issue develops. If that doesn’t solve it, then email us right away. Please don’t wait to voice your concerns until the trip is over, as it’s much harder to solve issues after the fact.
We work hard to make sure you have a great trip. If something isn’t right, please email hello@10adventures.co and we will get to work right away.

Trek through “the last pure land on the blue planet”
Take the first step towards a private travel experience, customized just for you.
About this tour:
Trek to breathtaking views on the 13-day Daocheng Yading Trekking Adventure Tour! This tour travels deep into “the last pure land on the blue planet.” Spend the first 5 days meandering notable cities in China and stopping at a montage of intoxicating attractions flanked by incredible scenery. In between sightseeing stops, meet some cuddly friends at Shenshuping Panda Base in Wolong. After immersing yourself in China’s hypnotic culture, you’ll lace up your boots and go on a 7-day trekking adventure!
You’ll follow in Joseph Rock’s footsteps, an Austrian-American explorer who ventured to and through hidden gems spanning the soaring snow-capped mountainscapes in Yading- bright blue lakes and incredible valleys. After Rock’s adventure, his notes and photos were published in National Geographic, which inspired James Hilton’s novel, “Lost Horizon.” While your photos likely won’t get published in National Geographic or inspire a book, they will look good on your social media, on your Christmas cards, or in your memory. Don’t miss the Daocheng Yading Trekking Adventure Tour!
Arrive in Chengdu at the airport in the morning, where a local guide will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day exploring Chengu- stroll along Wide Alley and Narrow Alley, admire the ancient relics dotting these roads, and enjoy sipping tea in an old teahouse.
Enjoy a tasty breakfast before driving to Dujiangyan to check out the ancient Irrigation System, now a UNESCO World Heritage site. After checking out this unreal site, which still functions today, you’ll travel to the Wolong National Nature Reserve. Admire the beautiful nature and exotic wildlife here, including giant pandas. Depending on the weather, you may get a chance to marvel at a 360 vista of Mt. Siguniang at Maobiliang during sunset.
If you didn’t have a chance to marvel at the sunset the night before, you might get an opportunity to view the sun rising above Mt. Siguniang at Maobiliang if the skies are clear. Later on, you’ll go on a light walk in the Shuangqiao Valley. After walking, and en route to Jiaju, where architectural beauty and charm awaits, you’ll stop at Wori Tusi Manor. Upon arrival in Jiaju, you’ll spend some time walking around and admiring the beautiful town.
Get ready for another day of driving to impressive attractions dotting this area of China! First, you’ll stop at the Lhagang Monastery before visiting the Gyergo Nunnery, which will give you a more in-depth glimpse into Tibetan culture. You’ll also stop by the grand mani wall of Hepingfahui. During sunset, enjoy a magnificent view of Zhara Lhatse, a striking mountain.
Head to Litang, which sits at 4014m above sea level, after breakfast. Check out the home of the 7th Dalai Lama and visit the Litang Monastery. Continue driving until you reach Shangri-La Town, a mystical town with scenery that rivals the best views around the world. This is where the Yading nature reserve is, and you’ll see three soaring Tibetan peaks—Jambeyang (Yangmaiyong, Manjusri, 5958m), Chenresig (Xiannairi, Avalokitesvara, 6032m), and Chanadorje (Xialuoduoji, Vajrapani, 5958m)—upon arrival.
Get ready to lace up your boots and immerse yourself in spectacular natural scenery. First, you’ll take a shuttle to Chonggu Monastery, where you’ll have the chance to wake up your legs and walk around for a bit. Then, you’ll start winding along the trail through the woods, until you reach a phenomenal view that gives you an image of Yading’s three sacred mountains from various angles. You’ll have lunch at a Boyong cattle farm. Then, embark on a 1-hour hike along an easy slope before arriving at your campsite for the night. You’ll set up your tent by the lake and spend the night relaxing and watching the stars light the black sky.
Enjoy a tasty breakfast before hitting the trail! Today’s journey winds to Cuogaida Pass. From here, you’ll head downhill, passing by the Cuogaida lakes to Niangcuo Platform before walking along a mild road leading to the Galuo cattle farm. After the cattle farm, the views will come in abundance: meander through a river valley, an old-growth forest, and go upstream. You’ll spend the night camping at Gonggazaze, where the views of Xialuoduoji (mountain) will amaze you, especially when the sun paints the sky with golden hues.
Enjoy breakfast before winding to Xialuoduoji pass. Continue over the pass and catch views of the cattle farms dotting the land below and Dulu lake tucked into a mountain. The trail takes you to your campsite just below Zabala Pass. Bask in nature and enjoy a relaxing afternoon!
Begin your hiking adventure of the day by ascending Zabala Pass. This is a steep section that can take between 1-2 hours. After you cross the pass, the path begins to gently wind downhill, taking you through Niangxi Cattle Farm, some landslide zones, and across Yangmaiyong horizontal pass. Eventually, you’ll reach Xinguo Cattle Farm, where you’ll set up camp for the night.
Prepare to hike by a montage of supernatural views today! Catch glimpses of the imposing Yangmaiyong and Xialuoduoji, marvel at Black Lake from the Heihu Pass. Continue through another cattle farm (Jiadu) and walk by another stunning lake, Jiaducuo. But the views don’t end there! The trail twists to Shehu Pass, which offers an unreal vista of Snake Lake, while Xiannairi and the west of Yangmaiyong paint the background. From here, you’ll descend to your campsite.
Expect to enjoy exceptional lake views today! First, you’ll cross the Songduo Pass and hike to the ever-so stunning Milk Lake (Niu Nai Hai) and Five-Colour Lake (Wu Se Hai). Ascend a little higher to view these lakes from above! Go back to Songduo Pass after snapping some photos and make your way to your campsite.
Just because today is the last of trekking doesn’t mean that you won’t have incredible views! When you walk along the hillside of the soaring Xiannairi mountain, you’ll get to see Kasi Hell Valley on your left. Continue hiking until you reach Songluo pass, where another view of Xiannairi awaits. After walking through a forest, you’ll reach a postcard-worthy image of Xiannairi reflecting in the shimmering Pearl Lake. Spend some time admiring the outstanding natural scenery before heading to Chonggu Monastery, where your shuttle will pick you up and take you to Daocheng.
