Drive to Pokhara

Your adventure continues with an early morning departure from Kathmandu. After breakfast, our team will escort you to the tourist bus station for the scenic journey to Pokhara.

As you travel through the Nepalese countryside, you'll experience ever-changing landscapes of winding rivers, terraced hillsides, charming villages, and lush valleys. The drive offers a wonderful introduction to the natural beauty that defines the Annapurna region.

Upon arrival in Pokhara, you'll have the opportunity to explore one of Nepal's most picturesque cities. Nestled beside a tranquil lake and surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks, Pokhara is renowned for its breathtaking mountain vistas, including Annapurna, Machapuchare (Fishtail Mountain), Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal, and Manaslu. Trek to Ulleri

Today, you'll depart Pokhara and enjoy a scenic drive through picturesque valleys, rivers, and traditional villages to Birethanti, the gateway to the Annapurna region. After a relaxing lunch stop in the charming village of Hile, you'll begin your trek with a gradual uphill walk to Ulleri, a traditional Magar village nestled in the hills. This first day provides the perfect introduction to the stunning landscapes, rich culture, and unforgettable trekking experience that awaits in the Himalayas.

Trek to Ghorepani

Today, you'll continue your trek toward Ghorepani (2,840 m / 9,318 ft), a picturesque mountain village renowned for its stunning Himalayan views. The trail gradually ascends through beautiful rhododendron and oak forests, creating a peaceful and scenic trekking experience.

Along the way, you'll pass through the small settlements of Banthanti and Nangethanti, where you can take a short break and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. During spring, the forests come alive with vibrant rhododendron blooms, adding spectacular color to the landscape. Upon reaching Ghorepani, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking mountain scenery and a welcoming mountain atmosphere.

Poon Hill Sunrise & Trek to Tadapani

Your day begins before dawn with an unforgettable hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m / 10,531 ft). The short but steady climb of one to two hours is rewarded with one of the most spectacular sunrise views in the Himalayas.

As the first light breaks over the horizon, you’ll witness the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges slowly illuminating in golden and pink hues, creating a truly magical panorama. With clear skies, you may even spot the first morning flights crossing the valley below, adding to the unique atmosphere of the moment.

After spending time soaking in the views, you’ll descend back to Ghorepani for a warm breakfast and a short rest. Refreshed, you continue your trek toward Tadapani, navigating a mix of uphill and downhill trails through dense forests and changing landscapes.

You’ll pass through Thapla Danda (3,165 m) before branching off toward Tadapani. The final stretch rewards your effort with beautiful mountain vistas, making this a challenging yet deeply rewarding day on the trail.

Trek to Ghandruk

Your trail leads you to Ghandruk, a beautiful village nestled in the foothills of the Annapurna range. This traditional settlement is home to the Gurung community, one of Nepal’s most well-known ethnic groups, offering a wonderful opportunity to experience their unique culture, language, and traditional lifestyle.

Ghandruk is also known for its proud history as a recruitment base for Gurkha soldiers, famed for their courage and service. Beyond its cultural charm, the village offers stunning mountain views and a peaceful atmosphere. You’ll have time to explore at your own pace and soak in the beauty and character of this Himalayan village.

The tour ends where it begins, in Kathmandu.

What should I pack?

You will be given a complete packing list for your trek upon booking. Plan to layer your clothing to be comfortable at different temperatures. You should be able to add a waterproof layer (jacket and trousers) to stay dry, as well as protect yourself from the sun with a hat and sunglasses. A headlamp with extra batteries is also recommended. You will carry your own daypack (30 L recommended) during the day and your baggage on the trek is limited to 12 kg. You should also have a sleeping bag (rated for -10°C), dry bags, a padlock (to lock your trek bag) and a basic first aid kit. Please respect the traditional Nepalese culture by dressing conservatively (avoid bare shoulders and keep legs covered)

Can I charge my phone / camera / other device?

You may need an outlet adapter for any electrical items. Click HERE to find more information. Electricity will not always be available along the trek. Some lodges will have solar powered charging facilities for an additional fee.

How much spending money will I need?

Plan to have cash exchanged into Nepali rupees. It is possible to withdraw rupees from ATMs in Kathmandu but not outside the city. An estimated $400-600 USD per person should be sufficient for meals in Kathmandu, drinks, snacks and other personal expenses such as showers and charging batteries in the trekking lodges. This should also cover tips for your guide, porters, and other trek staff.
