Enjoy a night in Morocco’s capital city and head out to explore its vibrant souqs, historic palaces, and impressive mosques.
Spend 8-day exploring the mountains and valleys of southern Morocco with a guide
The Great South Morocco Mountain Bike Tour invites you to explore an authentic Morocco, crossing the beautiful High Atlas Mountains, the Draa valley with his kasbahs and the breathtaking dry plateau of Jebel Saghro. Each day’s guided ride is full of magical discoveries as you explore some of Morocco’s most scenic landscapes by mountain bike. Beginning and ending in Marrakech, this tour will introduce you to authentic Moroccan culture, cuisine, and way of life.
Arrive in Marrakech where you’ll be met by your guide at the airport before transferring to your hotel in Marrakech.
After breakfast you’ll set out in a 4x4 vehicle headed towards the Atlas Mountains. You’ll pass by the Tizi N'Tichka (2260m) the highest of all roads in North Africa, where you’ll enjoy a beautiful landscape and find numerous stalls selling rocks and fossils. Shortly after, you’ll return by a small road to the village of Telouet, where you’ll visit the ancient Kasbah built in 1880 by one of the masters of southern Morocco, El Haj Thami the Mezouari. Here begins your bike tour through the beautiful valley Ounila. Cross a semi-desert landscape through different Berber villages to reach the large Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and the setting for many films. After checking into your hotel, it’s time to walk around the village, drink tea and enjoy the charm of the area until dinner time.
This morning you’ll ride through the valley of the Drâa up to Agdz where a short transfer will take you to the spectacular pass Tizi-n-Tinififft (1160m / 5445 ft). Here, you’ll enter the old and dry Anti Atlas Mountains with a lunar landscape of strange rock formations. Your cycling starts with a short descent on a paved road with magnificent views. After crossing a small river you’ll take a smooth ‘piste’ (dirt road) around the base of Jebel Kissane, passing through ‘palmeries’ and isolated Berber villages. Small tracks and trails will take you through the valley of the Drâa to the village of Tin-Zouline.
Today’s biking is truly beautiful as you explore the green valley of Draa with its endless date palms. Exploring the ‘palmeries’ leads to a nice ‘piste’ nestled below the dramatic, near vertical brown valley walls. Later, pass by the village of Benizouli before ending up in the small village of Imi-n-Ouassif. Here you are close to the Sahara desert and can enjoy a visit to the sand dunes of Tinfou.
Today you’ll mountain bike through the Anti Atlas to N’kob Over the pass Tizi-n-Drâa to the remote and small city of N’kob. Leaving the green Drâa valley behind, you’ll enter the dry mountains of the Jebel Saghro. In N’kob you’ll stay in a traditional ‘auberge’.
Today is the big day: you’ll cross the mountains and conquer the isolated pass Tizi-n-Tazazert (2200m/ 7217 ft). From N’kob a dirt road takes you to the volcanic gateway of Babn-Ali and from there it is a heavy climb to the pass. But the view on top, with the snow-capped High Atlas Mountains on the horizon, make the hard work worthwhile. A spectacular descent will bring you to the Berber village of Tagdilt. Here you’ll spend your last night in ‘the middle of nowhere’.
After breakfast drive back to Marrakech across Tichka pass (2260m), arrival in the late afternoon, check into your hotel or Riad, with an overnight stay and breakfast. The afternoon will bring an opportunity to visit some monuments, souks, or simply relax by the pool.
According to your flight times you will be transferred to the airport by your guide. Fly back to your destination with sweet memories of Morocco!

I’ve been using 10A route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10A made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

Communicating with 10Adventures feels like talking with a family-run business. I love to explore and travel, and exploring with the comfort of knowing I can talk to the team at 10Adventures with almost immediate feedback helps to ease any stress that comes with adventuring!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
