Why Choose a Patagonia Hiking Tour

If you are looking for an answer to the question why choose a Patagonia hiking tour, the answer is simple: booking a hiking tour in Patagonia allows you to see all of the best landmarks in this breathtaking corner of South America. It’s not often that you will visit a remote region such as Patagonia more than once in your life, so make your adventure count and book a Patagonia hiking tour for the best experience.

Los Glaciares National Park

Containing a collection of 47 different glaciers, Los Glaciares National Park in Argentinean Patagonia certainly lives up to its name! This remote region in South America is as breathtaking as it is wild, with a rugged landscape made up of the dramatic terrain of the Andes Mountains and the vast expanse of the Patagonian steppe. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981, Los Glaciares National Park covers an area of 726,927 hectares, making it the largest national park in Argentina.

Torres del Paine National Park

Situated in the wilderness of Chilean Patagonia, Torres del Paine is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream destination. Jagged mountain peaks, pristine lakes, and frigid glaciers characterize the landscape of the park and offer plenty of variety when it comes to outdoor activities. Torres del Paine National Park was established in 1959 and gets its name from several iconic peaks that can be found within its boundaries, with torres meaning “towers” and paine meaning “blue” in the indigenous Tehuelche language.

Cerro Torre

Situated in the Southern Patagonian Ice Field of Argentina, Cerro Torre is an iconic mountain peak that can be found within the boundary of Los Glaciares National Park. It is the highest peak in a small chain that includes three other mountains, and is instantly recognizable by the mushroom-shaped formation of ice at its summit. This ice formation and the strong winds around the summit make Cerro Torre a difficult mountain to climb, which led to the initial claim of a successful summit by Cesare Maestri in 1959 being challenged by the mountaineering community.
