Canmore Hoodoos Trail

The Canmore Hoodoos Trail is a quick trip from downtown to explore the bench above the valley. It has outstanding views of the Three Sisters and other surrounding peaks. The trail is close to a bike park and other trail networks in the area.

Route Description for Canmore Hoodoos Trail

The Canmore Hoodoos Trail starts from the parking area at the bike park. From here head to the far left side of the parking lot next to the bike park. Follow the clear multi-use trail down a short slope before gaining incline. The trail is clearly defined and leads hikers to a viewpoint over the hoodoos. The hoodoos are ancient geological formations in the shape of towers that rise above the trail. Catch some amazing views across the valley from up high before continuing on. Make your way to a junction with Silvertip Road before turning back to return.

Getting to the Canmore Hoodoos Trail Trailhead

Getting to the Canmore Hoodoos trail from downtown is easy. Take Railway Ave through the main intersection at the train tracks, over the Trans-Canada Highway, joining Benchlands Trail. After crossing the Trans-Canada Highway and passing through the sets of traffic lights, take your first left into the parking area next to the bike park.
