The South Platte Greenway North is an awesome trail. Reconnect with nature, walk your four-legged friend, catch up with an old buddy, or trek solo along this beautiful trail. Well-maintained, level, and partially paved, this route is accessible to hikers and adventurers of almost all capabilities! Just make sure to pack plenty of water as much of the trail is exposed! It is also worth noting that the initial section of the path and the last few clicks may be noisy as they near busy roads.

Begin your adventure along the South Platte Greenway North Trail from the trailhead. From here, track east along the South Platte Trail before crossing the footbridge over the river. Now heading north, the path will guide you along the riverbank. Keep an eye out for ducks, geese, and birds as you travel along the trail. Nestled between the River and gravel pits, you will be secluded from the busyness of the encompassing city. The route will briefly diverge from the river’s edge but will shortly return you along the running waters.

Enjoy the sights of the cityscape and the views of the South Platte River. You will eventually come to the path’s end at the north bridge over the river near the parkway. Here, simply turn around and retrace your footing back to the trailhead.
