Benbradagh and Forest Trail

The Benbradagh and Forest Trail is a fun walking route in the Sperrins Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that will take you through a variety of terrain types to reach the summit of Benbradagh. While out walking the trail, you will make your way through a woodland area filled with mature trees, before traversing the rugged and boggy mountainside to access the summit viewpoint. Terrain underfoot can be quite wet and uneven, so be sure to wear proper walking boots that are preferably waterproof.

Route Description for Benbradagh and Forest Trail
If you are after a bit of variety in your next walking adventure, then the Benbradagh and Forest Trail is a great option to experience the varied landscapes of the Sperrins Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the southwest through an atmospheric stretch of woodland terrain that features beautiful mature trees and a nice pathway. From here, you will exit the tree cover and continue to the southwest, climbing uphill across the boggy mountainside to reach an access road near the summit of Benbradagh.
After reaching the viewpoint, you will enjoy a commanding sightline across the surrounding area, before heading to the south towards the summit of Boviel. From here, follow the trail to the northeast in order to descend the mountainside, where you will eventually meet back up with your initial path through the forest. Follow this back to the trailhead where you began your adventure.

The trailhead for the Benbradagh and Forest Trail can be found along Gelvin Road, just 1.6 km southeast of the junction with Legavallon Road.
