Route Description for Green Road Loop
Walking the Green Road Loop is a great outdoor excursion if you are just looking to get out of the city and aren’t too concerned with breathtaking mountain views or overly challenging trails. This laidback route will take you through the countryside along quiet roads that are both easy to traverse and provide some pleasant views of the surrounding farmland.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the southeast along Green Road, before turning left onto Ballynahinch Road. Here, you will climb slightly uphill to the north and enjoy some nice views of the surrounding fields, eventually splitting off to the right onto Limehill Road.
Follow this until it merges back onto Ballynahinch Road, making a sharp left here to follow it south. After turning right onto Lisnoe Road, you will follow it slightly downhill through the farmland until you arrive at a junction with Green Road. From here, you will turn left and follow the road back to the trailhead where you began.
