Greenlee Lough Walk

The Greenlee Lough Walk is a laidback adventure in Northumberland that features some beautiful views of the countryside and a chance to visit a charming lake. While out on the trail, you will make your way around Gibbs Hill Farm to traverse the open countryside, eventually strolling along the shores of Greenlee Lough and the banks of Caw Burn on the return leg. This is an easy-going walking route that is perfectly suited for spending a few hours in the countryside.

Route Description for Greenlee Lough Walk
If the aim of your next walk is to get out for a good amount of exercise while taking in some lovely lakeside views, then you will certainly want to explore the trails along the Greenlee Lough Walk. This fantastic route features a wonderful countryside setting and a great sightline across the water, making for a fun afternoon outdoors.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will cross the bridge over Caw Burn and keep left to skirt around Gibbs Hill Farm, before following the path as it bends to the northeast. Here, you will traverse the picturesque Northumberland countryside, as you eventually make your way towards the shores of Greenlee Lough.
After taking in the views across the water, you will backtrack along the trail to the southwest, keeping left in order to cross back over the banks of Caw Burn. Reaching the edge of a small wood, you will head west along the tree line, enjoying the views of the surrounding farmland as you make your way back into the trailhead.

The trailhead for the Greenlee Lough Walk can be found 2.1 km north of the Steel Rigg car park outside of Once Brewed.
