Happiness Promise
There are hundreds of thousands of guides and tour operators around the world. Figuring out who to trust is stressful and hard.
That’s why we started 10Adventures Tours, we’re here to make it easy to find a great guide or tour operator. We handpick the best local guides and tour operators for 10Adventures, working to ensure you have great guides and a great trip.
We know it sucks to show up in a different country and find out the tents are junk, the guide incompetent or the route different from what we thought we were getting.
We want to give our users peace of mind that you’ll have a great trip and offer a guarantee that we will work with you to make it right.
How does this work?
Well, if you feel that something about your trip didn’t’ meet your expectations, let us know. We will then work to gather the details and figure out where things went wrong. If something indeed wasn’t as described, or went wrong with your trip, and the problem was within the control of either oursleves, the guide or the tour company, we will then work out a refund with you that’s proportional to the scale of the problem.
Obviously the best way to make a great trip is to tell your local guide or tour operator and give them the chance to fix the solution while you are on your trip. Most things can be solved by telling your guide when the issue develops. If that doesn’t solve it, then email us right away. Please don’t wait to voice your concerns until the trip is over, as it’s much harder to solve issues after the fact.
We work hard to make sure you have a great trip. If something isn’t right, please email hello@10adventures.co and we will get to work right away.

Trek Mount Kilimanjaro on the popular Machame route
Take the first step towards a private travel experience, customized just for you.
About this tour:
Ready to bag the tallest summit in all of Africa? The 7-days Mount Kilimanjaro on Machame Route tour is the way to go! Nicknamed the “Whiskey” route, the Machame route is one of the most popular ways to trek Mount Kilimanjaro. This weeklong tour gives you more time to acclimatize to the elevation, making the summit even more reachable. Expect unreal scenery and an incredible sense of accomplishment!
Leave all the details of your trek to the experienced guides, porters, and cooks whose services are all included in your tour. Everything you’ll need to camp on the mountain will also be provided, so you don’t have to worry about your tent, sleeping mattress or even table and chairs for mealtime. You’ll be trekking the Southern Circuit, which will give you the chance to see the Uhuru Peak from every angle. That’s only a small part of the epic scenery you’ll experience during your trek! A few other special sights are the Shira Plateau, Lava Tower and the Barranco Wall. All of those will have a hard time competing with the sunrise from the Stella Plateau and the view from the summit! Take on the adventure of a lifetime on the 7-days Mount Kilimanjaro on Machame Route tour!
Your pre-trek briefing will happen the day before you start your climb, after your arrival and transfer to the hotel. During this briefing, you’ll meet your guides and have your gear assessed so that any equipment rentals required can be arranged locally. Add an optional hotel night and airport transfers from either Moshi airport (ARK) or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JNB) for an easy arrival!
You’ll be picked up this morning at your hotel in Moshi for a drive to the trailhead at Machame Gate. Your trek today winds through the rainforest and up the ridge to where you’ll spend your first night on the mountain at Machame Camp.
Today the scenery you trek through will only get more impressive the higher you climb. As the rainforest recedes, you’ll climb the dramatic ridge to Shira Plateau where you’ll be camping for the night.
This morning will be a strenuous trek to the Lava Tower. You can even climb this 100m volcanic plug, otherwise known as “Shark Tooth”. After lunch, you’ll get a break from the higher altitude as you descend into Barranco Valley. Enjoy the fantastic view of Mount Kibo and the southern glaciers from tonight’s resting place at Barranco Camp.
Yesterday you caught sight of the impressive Barranco Wall, and today you will climb over it! Not to worry, you don’t need any technical climbing skills to reach the top. Although you may need to use your hands for balance in some sections, it just takes determination and your feet to reach the top. Enjoy the view, then you’ll be hiking back down the valley to Karanga Camp for the night.
Today will be a shorter day on the trail through the somewhat desolate volcanic desert. You may find the effects of the altitude making the day more challenging as you get acclimatized. Rest well tonight at Barafu Camp, as you’ll have a very early wake up call!
You’ll want to wear your headlamp when you hit the trail sometime around midnight this morning. The early start ensures you’ll arrive at Stella Point for an incredible sunrise. The elevation and tricky footing through heavy scree and snow on the last stretch of your ascent will all be a challenge, but it’ll be worth it soon. When you reach the top of Uhuru Peak you’ll have earned the breathtaking view from the highest point in all of Africa! This afternoon you’ll be hiking back down to a much more comfortable altitude to spend the night at Mweka Camp.
Today is your last day on the mountain as you trek down back into the warmer rainforest climate. You’ll receive your summit certificate on your arrival at Mweka Gate. Here you’ll meet the vehicle that will return you to your hotel in Moshi. Well done!
Today, after breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your return flight. Goodbye, Tanzania!
