Day 1 Meet in Victoria

You will be greeted by your friendly guides at either a hotel or the airport in Victoria, depending on your preference. After meeting the rest of your group, you will head out for a guided tour of Victoria, exploring the pretty harbour and hidden downtown gems. Later, you will head to the West Coast to set up camp with a spectacular view of the Olympic Peninsula. Indulging in a healthy, gourmet meal beneath the open sky, you will start to connect with your fellow group members beneath the shade of the magnificent old-growth trees.

Day 2 Port Renfrew and the Cowichan Valley

After enjoying a delicious alfresco breakfast at your camping spot, you will buckle up in the support van and head out North along the West Coast. You will take the time to stop and admire the abundant natural beauty, with plenty of gigantic trees and gorgeous tidal pools which are sure to take your breath away. Passing through the Cowichan Valley, you will stand beneath the dizzying heights of the 800-year-old fir trees at Cathedral Grove before settling into your waterside camping spot at Sproat Lake.

Day 3 Local Hike and Drive to the West Coast

Enjoy an early morning breakfast by the tranquil waters of the Sproat Lake before setting out for another jam-packed day of adventure. With several possible hikes on the table today, it’s time to lace up your shoes and brace yourself for sensational views. Later on, you’ll jump in the van to cruise to the west coast where you can enjoy another local hike after stopping to take in the wonders of Stamp Falls.
Once in Tofino, you can enjoy the expansive tropical rainforests and sandy coastline before watching a gorgeous sunset from your camping spot right on the beach.

Day 4 Adventures of the Sea

Rise and shine ready to take on another magical day in and around Tofino. Decide to enjoy this tropical paradise on land by taking some time to explore the colourful artisan shops of Tofino or hit the trails on a local hike. Or hit the water and spend the day carving the waves at one of Canada’s most celebrated surfing spots. You can also opt to set out on a guided whale watching or guided sea kayaking tour on the coast. Day 5 Kayaking, Surfing or Bear Watching

Everyone has different preferences when it comes to exploring the great outdoors, so you will have the opportunity to decide how you want to spend your day. If you didn’t hit the water yesterday, today you’ll have another opportunity to take a guided kayaking tour or go searching for black bears on a marine bear watching tour. Watching them hunt for rock crabs, you are sure to fall in love with the character of these beautiful animals. Alternatively, ocean worshipers can spend another day surfing the waves at Long Beach before taking a hike through the lush rainforest.

Day 6 Farewell

Waking up by the Pacific Ocean, Canada’s West Coast is sure to have captured your heart. This guided hiking tour in Vancouver Island is run as a fixed-departure tour where you’d be joining a group, however, custom private tours can be organized for those willing to travel with their group only (please contact us with your preferred date and the number of people in your group and we will create the itinerary just for you).

Please note that this tour will not be running during the 2023 summer season.

Accommodation on 6-day Vancouver Island Adventure Tour

This tour is based in good quality tents with comfortable camping pads. Your camping spots are carefully chosen to offer the most beautiful views of the stunning West Coast landscapes, with pitches by the side of lakes, nestled amongst gigantic ancient trees or nestled right on the lovely beaches. A hot shower is available nearly every day and all diets can be catered for.

Prices are based on 2 people sharing a 3-4-person tent, but it is possible to upgrade to a private tent if you prefer. You can either bring your own sleeping bag or rent one for an extra fee.

You can pay a supplement of $250USD to have a private tent for yourself only. Contact us and we can try and match single travelers up, where possible.
