Route Description for Mount Wittenburg and Bear Valley Loop

Leading you through lush meadows, forested valleys, grassy headlands, and up to the summit of Mount Wittenburg, there is no shortage of scenery to indulge in along this trek. Traveling over diverse terrain types that are often uneven with obstructing roots and rocks is tricky business, so we encourage hikers to wear a pair of sturdy footwear—you'll thank us later! Additionally, the coastal weather is often chilly, windy, and foggy, so dress in layers to be prepared for anything! Note: elk are sometimes observed along this route; if you encounter one, be sure to keep your distance as they can be aggressive creatures.
