Route Description for Voyager Rock to Hobler Lake Hike
The Voyager Rock to Hobler Lake Hike is a great hike that offers an enchanting forestland adventure in the High Sierra. Explore the lush woodlands and cross several snowmelt streams before opening to the lake. If you are seeking a quiet, sequestered hike—then you have come to the right place. Hiking deep into it is important to be mindful of wildlife and make sure you are prepared for unexpected encounters!
Setting out from the trailhead, this hike follows the Dusy Ershim OHV Route before diverting right onto the trail signposted for Hobler Lake at the junction. This path will guide you northeast through the mixed conifer woodlands, gradually climbing through a valley adorned with a lush meadow. Eventually, you will reach another intersection, veer left here, and you will be diverted onto the Blackcap Trail. From here, the route will begin to climb more intensely, intersecting with several snowmelt streams. Keep left and merge onto the Hobler Lake Trail at the next trail fork.
Follow this path north up to the charming alpine pool. Admire the scene of Hobler Lake encircled by looming pines and adorned by smooth granite outcrops. After reveling in the view, backtrack along the path the way you came to the trailhead.
