Ralph Klein Park Trail Description
Hiking the Ralph Klein Park Loop is a great way to spend a few hours in some greenspace in the city. There may be a lot of traffic here, but not as much as some of the bigger parks in the city. Because the park is in a wetland, the marshy area may see lots of bugs. There isn’t much shade, so don’t forget your sunscreen!
The park itself is home to a natural playground and environment education facility, and operates on a zero waste target. It is a unique greenspace with lots of ecological integrity, and a great spot to get outside in the southeast of the city.
From the main parking lot in the park, join the Ralph Klein Park Loop Trail by hiking towards the water and along the water’s edge. You will wrap around the main area of the park and join the access road you drove in on.
Rejoin the trail on the right from the access road and make an out and back along the water, exploring what the park has to offer. Turn around at the edge of the park and make your way back to the central area.
This trail is great for all abilities, offers easy going paths, and can be adjusted in distance to meet your needs. The park is also a great place for a picnic and an afternoon by the water playing in the playground.
Insider Hints
Bring your reusable containers on this route as the park has a zero waste mandate.
