Route Description for Cabin Canyon and Balanced Rock Loop
The Garden of the Gods is a must-see when in the Colorado Springs area. A crowd favorite among locals and tourists alike, this trek is undeniably scenic. Get out into the fresh air and enjoy the awe-inspiring vistas of the mountains that sit in the background of the impressive red-hued sandstone outcroppings. A revered escape from the busyness of the city, the park is highly trafficked on the weekend. If you seek a more secluded adventure, consider an early morning weekday adventure!
Your journey along the Cabin Canyon and Balanced Rock Loop departs from the Balanced Rock Trailhead off Garden Lane. From here, take the rightmost Balanced Rock Trail. This path will guide you through the park's center, eventually crossing over Garden Drive. After crossing the road, again take the rightmost Cabin Canyon Trail. Follow this path around the loop, enjoying sights of the Siamese Twin rock in the east.
Follow the circuit through the meadowland and back to the Cabin Canyon Trailhead. Here, cross back over Garden Drive. At this point, reconnect with the Balanced Rock Trail and retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.
