While out hiking, you will traverse the difficult to navigate trail and gain plenty of elevation on the way to Lawlor Saddle, before summiting Mount Lawlor itself. Route Description for Mount Lawlor via Strawberry Peak Trail Loop
If you are up for a rugged journey that will require a bit of navigation and the need to scramble across rocky terrain at times, then you should absolutely check out the Mount Lawlor via Strawberry Peak Trail Loop.
Setting out from the trailhead at the Red Box Picnic Area, you will cross over CA-2 and pick up the trail as it runs parallel to the highway. Eventually, you will arrive at a fork and keep left, before crossing a fire break and continuing on to the northwest.
After reaching Lawlor Saddle, turn back to the southeast and follow the path as it climbs further uphill to the summit of Mount Lawlor, where you will enjoy views across the undulating landscape. From here, head south down the firebreak to descend the mountain, eventually turning left onto your original path in order to return to the trailhead.
