Create lasting memories with new friends on this epic Thailand tour
This tour targets solo travellers who want the best of Thailand—meaning this itinerary is chock-full of entertainment and wild activities! You’ll experience Bangkok’s nightlife in some of the trendiest neighbourhoods and spend your days participating in low-key educational activities, like workshops and scavenger hunts. Escape Bangkok’s buzz and head into the jungle, where you’ll stay in a floatel (floating hotel) and visit an ethical elephant sanctuary. The last few days are all yours to relax on the sandy beaches of Koh Samet, one of Thailand’s idyllic islands that looks like a postcard.
Undoubtedly, you will make lifelong friends on this trip. All the activities you participate in will bond you, like riding the Death Railway on rickety old wood rails next to a mighty river. With plenty of opportunities to mingle and get to know one another, you’ll feel like friends from Day 1. This beats travelling solo, too, because you’ll have a local guide with you the entire time, offering insights and a local connection to the hidden gems you might otherwise miss! For courageous solo travellers looking to spice things up on a trip, the Best of Thailand Tour should be added to your itinerary.
Once you land in Bangkok, the adventure begins! You’ll be picked up from the airport by your guide and transferred to the hotel to check in. Meet the group on the rooftop for a welcome drink in the evening and mingle with your group while you watch the sunset. Tonight, you’ll explore the Patpong Museum and the famous Patpong Night Market.
You’re a 10-minute walk away from the hotel, so feel free to stay out late if you want to kick off this tour with your new pals.
Appreciate a sleep-in this morning to fend off jetlag and meet your guide at 11:30 am to head to a riverside restaurant with a Thai buffet. After lunch, embark in a boat that navigates the many canals throughout the city, observing the immensity of it all. In the evening, you’ll jump on e-scooters to explore the labyrinth of alleys away from the crazy street traffic.
After the sunset, you’ll be carted off to Sukhumvit to a restaurant that educates and advocates for sexual health. Then, you’ll wander a trendy outdoor market for a final drink (if you want) and hop on the BTS sky train to return to the hotel. (Again, you have the option to enjoy the nightlife and head back on your own.)
Rise and shine, an activity-filled day awaits you! You’ll team up or go solo and embark on a themed scavenger hunt that promises to be educational, fun, and delicious. Activities might include riding in local transport, blind taste-testing, a leisurely bike cruise, and talking to locals. You’ll have lunch along the way to fuel your antics.
Enjoy free time before dinner to recuperate. Tonight’s dinner cruise takes you on the Chao Phraya River, offering fantastic skyline views and some traditional performances. Afterwards, your group will visit a hot-spot nightclub to mingle for the rest of the night. Return to the hotel when you’ve had one (or three) too many.
Say “see ya later” to Bangkok this morning as you hop in a transfer to Kanchanaburi. Enter into the lush scenery of Sai Yok National Park and the Elephant Haven. You’ll witness elephants going about their lives—it’s a treasure to see these majestic animals. No riding is permitted here as the Haven takes an ethical approach to caring for the animals.
Later, you’ll be transferred by boat to reach a floatel (floating hotel) for a truly unique experience of sleeping on water. Have dinner and watch a Mon Dance performance before bed.
After breakfast, you’ll enjoy a chill walk through Erawan National Park, an area of dense jungle, cascading streams, and awesome waterfalls. Jump in for an invigorating dip before having lunch at a floating restaurant. Later in the day, you’ll check-in to a hotel in Kanchanaburi, then hop aboard a train that defies physics, known as the Death Railway, where the train precariously runs along wooden supports next to the River Kwai.
Start the day with a train ride through small local villages nestled in the jungle to reach the tranquil Tha Chin River. Here, a gastronomic experience awaits cooked by a professional chef and her local team. Share stories and passions as you indulge in her creative fare.
Return to Bangkok after lunch, and then in the evening, you’ll head to a German Microbrewery where Thai and German traditions blend.
You get a full rest day today as you travel by boat to Koh Samed (koh = island). After the 3-hour boat ride, you can check in at your hotel and have the rest of the day to relax on the beach. Relish in this opportunity to chill.
On your last full days, you and your group can do whatever you please. Koh Samet may look familiar to you, as it’s probably been featured in every beach calendar since they started making beach calendars. Grab your towel, book, or download your favourite podcast, and go for a long walk until you find a spot that calls to you. Sunbathe, swim, repeat, all day long. Take your pick of beachside restaurants for lunch and dinner, then have an island-style farewell night with your crew!
After breakfast with tropical island views, you’ll meet your guide to return to the mainland by boat. You’ll then receive a transfer to the Bangkok Airport, and your tour ends here.
Say goodbye to all your new pals after exchanging information—you never know when your paths will cross again!

I’ve been using 10Adventures route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10Adventures made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

My wife Sarah and I had a great experience booking our 7-day cycling trip through Portugal via 10Adventures. The communication between us and Nadine leading up the trip was top-notch!

Communicating with 10Adventures feels like talking with a family-run business. I love to explore and travel, and exploring with the comfort of knowing I can talk to the team at 10Adventures with almost immediate feedback helps to ease any stress that comes with adventuring!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.

Wow! I am so happy with the experience I had with booking through 10Adventures for my tour in Italy! I worked with Nadine and she was super easy-going and helpful when it came to tweaking the itinerary provided on the website. 10/10 would book through 10Adventures again.
